Is there a website that posts the 1/4 mile times of most cars on and off the market...sort of like the road test digest that is printed every couple of months in Car and Driver?

Also, my friend has a 2003 Max SE and he says that he will beat me. It is stick and has all the options. Anyone race a max? I told him when I get my car and break it in its on...

First of all I never said I had no experiance. I had a 1993 SER classic and auto-X the car about 7 times a season and raced at limerock and pochono. He has the same experiance as me. I saw the 1/4 mile time of the Z at 14.1 and you said the max is 14.3. He does have the frankencar (spell) CAI in his max and yes it is a 6 speed. He is talking a lot of ****. That is why I was asking.

 

fwd vs rwd... hehehe. just make sure to use that to your advantage.

FrankenCar is a brand that makes intakes for Maximas (note, they are not CAIs, they sit in the same place as the stock airbox), and is branching out to do more Nissan products. They have a reputation for being the cheapest (price-wise), and having the most consistent performance gains. They also sound real nice.

I wouldn't be suprised to see them put something out for the Z eventually.

 

I guess I will have to wait a month to find out! I will def. race him off the line...I will utialize the RWD! It will be close from what I have been reading.

Can someone explain to me why nissan's sport sedan (with or without an intake) should be able to beat nissan's flagship sportscar?

Same engine, Z is lighter and produces more power, correct?

 

1) more power (at least by Nissan's ratings)
2) lighter weight
3) RWD

I'm not sure if the trannies are exactly the same. THAT I wonder about. I wonder if they have the same gear ratios and final drive.

I also wonder how much control the VDC system gives up even when turned off...

 

I raced on the South Course at Pocono. It's a fast course! Lots of fun. I can not wait to get the Z out there!

 

First of all, you do not know me and do not try to insult me. I know what I am talking about. Second, the south course at pocono is fast but it really does not have a lot of straight-a-ways. However, I hit a minimum of 105 on the south bound oval. Thirdly, there is a lot more to racing than top speed. You are now OWN3D!!
