In the Grand Am cup race...................just watch the race on Speed Channel next weekend......I will gladly give you my side of the story if you want but I am just going to let you guys make your own call.......and lets just say Stu Hayner apparently thinks this is the Trans Am series....I will leave it at that.
On another note.....The track started off ok buyt quickly went to crap most off all the quick times for the race where set within the first ten laps or so.
Luckily the water pump on the Z is driven off of the cam chain!
This finish would have given the 350Z its first proffesional podium........but fourth it 3rd time out in GAC isnt too shabby.
BJ I was reading the race notes and saw where the Z's got together...... Were you & Stu driving?

BJ,

The car seems to be fast & reliable. Very good for a new car. Running 6th in the Rolex race is quite good. I see you beat the other Cup cars running. Good luck at BMP. Should be very good for the car. I had hoped to make this one but my son's in a tourney on Saturday.......

Great races! I really enjoyed being there Saturday. I'm glad you guys hung in there and finished the 250. That's better than a lot of the cars did. It seemed like a lot of the domestics went out, the other Z quit (although perhaps there was nothing wrong?), and even a couple Porsches bit the dust. I got a great picture of 2 mustangs sitting inside the pit area with their hoods up.

After the cup race, I actually went back to the infield area where you guys had parked the car and got to see it up close. I don't know very much about racing setups, but I was surprised at the size of the exhaust outlets. They were only like 1" in diameter. Why so small? I'm guessing that with no cats or mufflers, you don't really have to worry about the system being restrictive with those small pipes. Or, perhaps for some reason you wanted the backpressure? They definitely gave the Z a very distict sound that was much different than any of the other cars.

Anyway, good race and I'm glad you guys made a good showing!

The "other Z" had some minor rear suspension problems. Repairs are going along and you should see it again at the California Speedway. We had a great time and are looking forward to the season. I had other commitments so couldn't go, but I'm just a spectator anyway. Don't have much to do with the car but work at the dealer that owns it.

I see. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you guys have a better run in California. Good luck!
