Kill List
Ok I know that someone on this board probably has the resources to put together a spreadsheet of competition for our beloved Z's. I was thinking it would be kind of cool to have a list of these cars with the following info: Make, Model, year, HP, TQ, weight, 0-60, 1/4 mile, engine type, displacement, etc...
Please God no. This place is already a hive of magazine racing, the last thing it needs is a spreadsheet. If you want mag racing just use the search function.

yeah, and with all those variables. that list would make NO sense whatsoever...maybe a poll would work. you know, something like poll of cars beaten and have like 5 or 6 choices, kinds of cars and whatnot...then it might be a tad better... who knows?
Magazine racing is a pasttime for insecure or inexperienced car owners and fans. You see it all the time around here... "MT got a 13.8 out of a <insert car here> in August '01 and C&D ran a <insert car here> to a 13.6 in June '02, so <insert car here> is obviously faster."
As for the spreadsheet... like PhantomZ said, there are too many variables. Take the LS1 f-body for example...
Weight: 3300lbs to 3800lbs
Rated horsepower: 305 to 345
Rear-wheel horsepower: 290 to 320
Magazine 1/4 mile times: 12.9 to 13.8
Two transmissions, A4 and M6
Two rear end ratios for autos
How are you going to compare a stock Z, which has almost as many variables, to that? Want to have some fun - try doing that with modular V8 Mustangs.
There's nothing wrong with comparisons, but creating some spreadsheet that tries to pin specific values onto certain cars isn't going to do anyone any good. Get out to the track and find out how things shake down.
