BMW makes some kick *** I6's. The 330ci is suprisingly quick considering it only makes about 220hp.

That seems a little surprising to me. I took care of an E36 M3 pretty easily the other day.

I have yet to race a 330, but some punk 17 year old with a sport shift 325 tried to race me the other day. It wasn't pretty. Now that BMW leases their cars for next to nothing I guess more and more younger kids are getting in them.

stock 330 numbers are like 6.0 sec 0-60. Our cars are 5.49..dunno man. Hey when are you getting your INGS kit? I ordered the same one; should be here in 4-5 weeks.

j/k, I have run against a friend in a G35 sedan (a 6.2 sec car), I bearly beat him, BUT I didn't give it 100%, b/c I thought I'd have him easier than I did, NEVER underestimate anyone, because you can get beat real easy that way. in other words if you go 90% and they go 100% they have you, the 330 is a decently quick car, enuf so that you have to be careful but equal drivers, the Z wins no problem.

Are you sure you took care of an E36 M3 pretty easily? I used to own an 98 E36 M3. Bought brand new. HP is lower than our Z, but 0-60 numbers are close. I can get 5.5 0-60 on my E36 M3, and most magazines says the car can do 0-60 in 5.4-5.8. That's our Zs acceleration numbers. I don't think the guy in the M3 is really racing you!! IMHO.

Maybe this guy was not as skilled a driver as you, but he got it going pretty well off of a stop light and he was revving pretty hard. I beat him by a full car length, driving hard.

And believe me, I'm well aware of what every magazine wrote about the E36 M3 and how much of a good car it is.

That is surprising, I had one before I got the Z..

and a few local guys I still hang out with have played around a few times so far and they haven't been that close at all. Don't get me wrong though, I loved my E46 and it was quick as **** for not being looked at as a "sports car" But like everyone said so far, the driver is key in any match-up

actually looking at the pic closer it looks like you model is newer than the one I saw, the front bumper/fascia and lights have the newer look (although NOT the latest/2003 look either).

You're too kind! I guess I am getting old. I don't really race any more! I appreciate cars for what they are.

it wasn't the car or the color it was the combo along with the wheels, the EXACT same set up.

My friend has a stock 99 M3 manual, we raced about ten times and i beat him everytime. We went from stops and roll ons, i was never behind. 1 and 2 gear its close (1/2 car), but 3rd i just pulled away and kept pulling. He also has an S2K that i raced around 5 times, I beat that car too. His brother has an '02 330ci with a manual. He put an intake and exhaust on it and i beat him by as much as I did the M3. These two brothers are my friends and neighbors, so I know exactly whats done to their cars and I know they were giving it all. They are both real good drivers with racing experience. The Z is just quicker. They were both shocked and pissed that their cars got beat.

when i first got my 350 I ran against my friend's manual 330ci.... we took it to about 135. 330 is definately fast and a very nice ride, however I was able to pull on him everytime. Given that the 330's 3rd gear has alot of power and seems very long.

E46 M3 > 350Z > E46 330

The 350Z will kill a 330 about the same way a E46 M3 hardtop will kill a 350Z.

E46 M3-4.7sec > 350Z -5.5sec > 330- 5.8sec. (0-60 time) React3 's obeservation is correct.
