My fiirst time
By hook I by crook got my baby on the track, all be it during the lunch touring laps at the Jefferson 500 @ Summit Point raceway behind a pace car. I hope the pace car driver had a change of underwear, because I was backing way off before the straight then redlining all the way down the hill to the hairpin - what a rush. Roll on FATT this Friday!!

Are you on for this Friday, rain or shine?
My friend with the LeSabre may not be able to go if he doesn't get it back from the shop in time, and if he's not going, I may just hold out for Seat Time next week. I've already had plenty of wet track days this year.
But if you (or anyone else reading this) will be there, I may go anyway.

Well, I wish you had said you weren't, because that would have made it easier for me. My friend needs a new rack in his car, so he's not going.
I just don't know. Here in Columbia it's overcast but dry this morning. If I knew it would be like that tomorrow, I'd go. I'm just not interested in another wet track day, especially since there's a Seat Time next week.
I just found this forecast:
A STATIONARY FRONT JUST SOUTH OF THE REGION WILL REMAIN IN PLACE THROUGH THE START OF THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE NORTHEAST ALONG THIS FRONT...CROSSING THROUGH THE MID ATLANTIC REGION FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL ARE PROBABLE BETWEEN FRIDAY MORNING AND MIDDAY SATURDAY.
So unless this changes in the next twelve hours, I'd say don't count on me being there tomorrow.
But don't let it stop you: you can learn a lot on a wet track. Just don't overdo it. As an instructor told us on a wet day last December, "There's nothing you can do on the track today that will increase the value of your car."

Well the gods are smiling on me it seems. Just got a call from the track. A cancellation tomorrow - so I'm hooked up, and I'm not crashing the party so to speak.
Dam shame your not going to make it, no way I can twist your arm? Don't let a little water put you off.

Hi james
Wow what an incredibly cool day, I hate the chute, I(I keep wanting to brake) it took me until the last lap of the last session to get it right. I love turns 3, & 6, 7, 8, 9 (really got that complex together) . It was too wet to flat line the straight (or i need bigger ones). The one time I really pushed the straight, completley over cooked 1, and nearly had a Z-Tractor, god bless ABS and traction control!!The Z really took care of me, let me make my mistakes, no complaints, no back biting, just eating it up.
Whar A rush!!
Ready to head back out there ASAP
Hope to see you out there next time!
