Default C5 Topless Crushes Z in 2nd

On Ventura Blvd. a convertable silver C5 pulls over to the right, I split the car in front and take the left. I leave VDC on and take it easy on the start, my rears are pretty worn. In first, we're side by side, I throw into second, get a chirp and the vette pulls on me hard, about a car length and still pulling.

I pull off the throttle and the C5 slows up too obviously a little scared of the parked, occupied squad car that comes up fast to the right. So, I park infront of the bar I was heading to and he parks at the bar next door.

I order a beer and when he comes out of the other bar, curious, I decide to ask him what he's got under the hood. He says:

Exhaust, headers and a small chip that gives him almost 400 hp. Sounds about right because if we had space, I would guess a few car lengths by third and no LS1 ever pulled that hard on me in 2nd. Anyways, the dude was totally cool, we exchange compliments on our cars and he waived as he headed back down Ventura.

Okay, so maybe it wasn't exactly a crush since we're talking 2 gears and it wasn't exactly a stock C5 when he had almost 400 hp but I bet the title got your attention.

He must have been talking to the Flywheel, because there is no way an exhaust, headers and a chip will give him anywhere near 400 rwhp more like 350...

No doubt. When someone asks me how many horses, I say 287 which I assume is at the flywheel. If you ask me, it's kind of silly and confusing to distinguish between what's at the flywheel and what's at your rear wheels. Sure, there's a point but someone who is not a car nut really couldn't careless.

LOL. Yeah, go for it. I don't think I want shattered piston rods and cam shafts sticking out of my hood but let me know how it goes with your car.

Thanks Mr Obvious. I could say Procharger 7psi on C5 will tear up the 350Z. Whats the point? I see why you have a yellow card already.

Don't tell Babystyle that. His entire view of the 350Z depends on slapping the GReddy turbo setup on the VQ, "boosting it up", and destroying everything on the road but his engine.

AS for the C5, anyone who tells me thay have a chip on an LS1 is sketchy. Obviously the guy had the power though. Nice death. Now go beat up on a Camaro to get car's honor back

Ya i have to think about it for a while too, when people ask me how many hp i have...Should i tell them to the wheels or the fly...I tell them fly usually, cause i've noticed that the majority of the people have no clue what u are talking about when mentioning the difference bw the two..
