I totally agree with you! I was in the worse gear to beging with going 80 in 6. Your right. I should have slowed down to 60, rev matching into 3rd, and pulled on his a*S!

 

See,.i did the same **** to a modded Z28(w/ SS wheels),..THAT I COULD HAVE BEATEN!!!!!!

We slowed up(highway) and I put it in 3rd but(me thinkin I'm still in my OLD GSR)I was revved around 5000-5300 I think,..so he honks 3x's and we're off,.I was pullin for that brief second I was in 3rd,..but then I had to switch to 4th!! So I got F*ucked!!!

Then I'm playin catch up and by that time he was about a half a car from my front bumper but I couldn't catch him,..I would have won had I slowed more or??MAYBE?? been in 4th???

Honda's should be a different story!!! I pulled on my Friends S2000 in 5th gear while he dropped to 3rd,...hahahaha so it can be done

 

You were in your best gear, then shifted when you had to, so what would you have done differently that would have made you win exactly??

Sorry, there isn't a speed from a roll where a stock Z will have an advantage over a stock Z28.

And you said the Z28 was modded? What mods exactly? How did you know? (different wheels aren't exactly what I'd call modded). Was it an LS1 or LT1?

 

I guess they took it out, because some S2k guy lost to a Z and was telling his story. This guy was saying that it's wasn't really a fair race, the Z had more HP and bigger motor. But he forgot to mention about weight. The S2K have a least 400-weight advantage over the Z. They run about the same time on the 1/4, it really up to the driver skill. I think it’s a fair race to me. He was also talking about getting some mod so he can beat a stock Z. I think he’s trying to make up for his lack of skill driving the S. Personally with a good driver in both cars it would be a pretty interesting race well on the ¼ miles that is.

 

Well,.I've come from 8000+ red-lining Car's,...and I should have looked @ where I was in the rpm band and maybe even slowed up a tad,...either way,..he was def modded,.no doubt--all I noticed enough was the SOUND(LOUD)/stickers as well as the SS wheels painted blk,..
but he didn't exactly dip on me, I thought he would have,..but for that sec or so,.I didn't go anywhere..& I started reeling him in once I got up in the rpms in 4th but we ran out of room(he almost rear ended a car coming up fast so I had to let me in my lane).....I believe he knew that as well?But i was waiting for him to blow my doors off,..which is why I know for a fact I could have beaten him,.but its no biggie,.I could care less,..I was mad for a few sec's after but its all in Fun.

ALL CAMEROS's look the damn same to me,.all I could tell was the wheels,..Everyone and their MOMS has a damn Camero,....nothing original about then anymore!But I know they are fast,..but I can't stand em.I don't care how fast they are! I would have bought one.But I'd rather Spank a LS1 or LT1 w/ an ugly *** door LANCER evolution then a Soupped up MUSTANG or some ****!(thats just me though)
Its all good,..I actually should have went to 4th instead of 3rd @ the Speed we we're @,..i was just too high up in the RPMS.
