man, not to hurt nay fellow z members, but i got beaten by and s2000 and a modded gsr integra! i was in 6th going abt 80 and then when the two guys pulled up next to me i knew it wsa time for action! i dropped my gear into 4th rev matching, but these ***** pulled on me bad! is it cuz, the hondas have a higher rpm or is it cuz i should've dropped into 3rd gear perhaps? anything, that would reasure me that i can beat them next time would be much appreciated!

First you screwed up by putting the car in 4th. At 61mph you are supposed to shift into 3rd. So you were in the wrong gear to begin with..3rd is where you should have been...

 

ummm....he was in 6th doing 80mph, so dropping to 4th was the right choice, since 3rd tops out at about 85mph

 

The S2000 could have either a Comptech or Vortech SC, and would have ran away from you. There are a few turbo kits as well. The aftermarket for the Integras is ridiculous, I can't even begin to name all the parts for them. Time for a Procharger.

I just switched over from the Honda World. I'll let you in on a little secret.... A GSR Tranny will not bolt up to a Prelude. They are totally different transmissions, meaning the Prelude is a cable driven tranny. The best he could hope for is a JDM Prelude tranny, a 4th Gen Vtec Tranny or maybe if he is really lucky a Euro Accord Type R Tranny. None of the B Series can be used with the H series.

 

Yep, not all cars on the road are stock.


I've raced a turbo Integra before and was surprised. I only put a carlength on him by 95mph.

I wish people would stop their BS. 10sec maybe with slick! A light car with that much power, equal no traction. I don't even care if it's even on the freeway. You will lose traction if you downshift into 4th. How do I know, because it did that with my lude when I did h23 block with a H22 head. It did that with Nitto 555. And my prelude was heavy. And B tranny don’t' work with H motor and even if it did why would you want a gearing that like. What? You think people own Z here don’t' know about Honda. Take your lies somewhere else. Your making other Honda owner look bad.

Unbelievable the amount of aftermarket parts for a GSR perhaps someday the Z will have that kind of aftermarket showing..but yeah why 4th gear? Go 3rd at least till redline..

 

Sorry to hear that man, but next time do this. If someone wants to race you slow down to about 60mph or so. Because you can put it in 3rd gear, that's your strongest gear. S2k are nothing if it wasn't for that long rev. Any time those guys wanna duke it out. I slow down, high beam them and if they are fair they will slow down too. Also keep in mine that some time you don't hear then down shift and you down shifter later you will be chasing their tale. So make it fair for yourself and wait for them to slow down. Also don’t even trip; your Z is stock they have to have mod to beat you. Get some mod, they will be sorry. But on a drag race from dead stop is a different story that varies on your skill. Freeway is all about power, if your car have it you will win.
