well, i finally went to the track; first time evar. we went to mason-dixon dragstrip in hagerstown, md. i was in street trim: spare, normal tire pressure, half a tank of gas. track was bad; hot and humid. someone took the temp of the track and it read around 130 degrees.
first run was against my friend's '97 cobra. he's got a 4.11 or 4.12 final gear; i forget. he's runnin his stock rubber, too. he ran a 14.730 and i was a little behind at 14.739. traps and 60' were about the same: 96(for me)/97 mph, 2.3 60'. to tell u the truth, i wasn't ready at all. i pretty much launched off idle. he needs new tires bad.
next was against an old fox-body. i won't go into his run too much, since he ran an 11.824 @ 113.14. mine was horrible. i tried launchin around 2.5k; bad mistake. i peeled out pretty much the whole way through 1st. i probly just didn't slip the clutch well enough. my 60' was 2.6ish and the 1/4 was around 15.2. my trap went up to a 97 though.
i don't know, i think it coulda been worse. it seemed to b a tough day for all. there wasn't too many streetcars there; mostly 7-12 second beasts on slicks. some bikes, snowmobiles, and railcars showed up. i did see one ellis who was runnin low 14's; his dial-in was 14.36 or 14.38. he was on street tires. i wanted to get in another qualifyin run cause it was startin to cool off a little, but they cut us off.
in summary, props to all the dragsters out there. it's tougher than it looks. i'll b back though.

I live here in Hagerstown, we are looking to go down to 75/80 in frederick next Friday night for street night you should see if you can come. Best time i got at mason dixon was a 13.9. Hope to get the Jun Flywheel installed sometime next week to see what i can get at 75/80. I heard the track down there might be a little slower, i guess we will see.

Let me know if you want to hook up and ride down together to check it out. As far as my times, the only thing i have changed on my car when i ran a 13.9 was the CAI and the back tires. I also let the tire pressure down to 30psi i believe ( i will have to double check i think i wrote it down somewhere ) You should be able to hit a better time, its has to do alot with your lauch. I ran a 16.8 one time, boy was that embarassing, stalled the car on the line LOL.
Let me know
