You should be hearing from my shop today or tomorrow.
is that why a kit is on its way to my shop. People need to stop talking about things they only read from somewheres else. just because the parts are not made in the US and the people who made these things have a bigger agenda (like race teams) than advertise on forums, where people only worry about price and doubt things they haven't seen before, doesn't mean the parts don't exist.
Maybe if someone had the ***** to step up to the plate , the ITBs are sitting at Macks shop , All he needs is a donar 350z car to run the setup.
But all you Z guys just yap about it , If I had a Z I would be on this already , Mack has done many ITBs and did a setup on a b18 Teg a month ago while I was at the shop, The customer left very very happy and needless to say been getting speeding tickets.

what makes you think a shop busy at work would careless about you who just cry about no results and would NEVER pay up for the product even if the results are in front of your face.
So they will continue doing work and make money instead of wasting time on a bunch of naysayers that have zero contribution to the thread at hand.
oh btw, when people spend 20+ K on a motor built, what makes you think they'd give a crap about your schedule on when it's suppose to be done, it'll be done when it's done.

I want to be 10000% clear, that in no way am I posting this to take a dig at Mack (who I don't know, but I've heard of over the years, being in the industry), nor at Neil, who I've known for many, many years now, and who we've done business with). I only am posting this to ask the question specifically of NiZMo1o1. Neil and I have done quite alot of business with each other over the years, and I consider him an industry friend. We go back many, many years now, and have often shared thoughts and ideas with one another, as we both happen to have heavily modded versions of the same car (280zx's) in our respective stables.
NiZMo1o1 - don't count people's money for them...it's poor form, especially when there are little to no details for people to base their decision on in the first place.
Now, I'm a big boy, and I've been modding cars for likely as long as you've been alive, or close to it. I understand what it is to take a leap of faith, and invest funds into a project or part, just to see what makes it tick. I've done it time and time again, and I'll continue to do it as time and funds allow, as it's part of what I enjoy, and it's what made my past and current project cars successful each and every time. I was literally 9/10's of the way from ordering this kit for my own car, back several months ago, and the severe lack of information that was available from specifically the manufacturer, is what swayed me against it. I didn't expect Neil to have a ton of info available to him, as at the end of the day, he's the middle man in essence, and I fully understand and appreciate that. So I went right to the source, and tried in vain to get some very, very basic info from Jenvey, and they basically said "sorry, you're on you're own with the kit". Again, I've been in that position with parts before, but that lack of even basic assistance is what made me not commit. In no way is that a dig at the product at all, as I know it's been used before on several race prepped VQ35's from rally to road race, and Jenvey obviously has a long reputation of making such kits for many engines. However, I am a newbie at ITB's, and there were some very basic questions that needed answers to, that they simply would not provide (such as clearance to a stock hood with stock motor mounts, valve cover clearance issues, stock fuel injector compatibility, and several other points). I didn't ask nor expect dyno figures as I know these kits are in the hands of race teams and they are not going to be forthcoming with such proprietary info. I didn't want, nor care for sound clips, as I didn't really care about it. I was willing to invest in the kit based on Jenvey's reputation, but for their ability, or willingness, to address very, very rudimentary fitment/design questions.
At the end of the day, I went a different direction, which actually cost me a bit more money than this kit would have, but where I know all the relevant details inside and out, backwards and forwards. I'm not saying anything more about what direction I chose, as it's still premature, and this is neither the time nor the appropriate thread to make any such info public.
So again NiZMo1o1 - stop you're yapping, and step up the plate as you said you would many months ago...where is the info you were supposed to provide? Or were you just flexing your "e" ***** as you so eloquently put it?

one-offs and small runs are a beautiful thing for those who can afford them

I think the ITB's ultimate worth should not be just how much it cost and how much hp it makes in specific instance of motor built, instead i look at it as a potential for gains, from mild to extreme, depending on how far you are willing to go with it.
It's definitely exciting that you've found other ways to approach your built, I'd love to see just how far you are able to push the VQ with your build, it's very much anticipated.
In the mean time, there will be results on the ITBs soon enough is all I have to say.

i WISH it would grow. we all know there are ITB z's out there, but the lack of info on any of them hurts. it would be nice to see stats, graphs, etc. on just one. thats not even because i wanna buy them because even if they were released they arent on my agenda, i just wanna see how they do

“[tomikaira] Z type-II”, by comparison with the other Z complete car especially when the response is high, favorable comment “[tomikaira] Z” in the base, aims toward ultimate NA and furthermore it is the vehicle which administers tuning.
The feature, with race/lace installing 6 connected throttles which are large fixed turn of the NA car and, furthermore has adopted the [tomikaira] private item by the cooperation development with the MoTeC corporation which has run name similarly in the race/lace boundary to the private computer which controls that.
With these 2 points, just race/lace car and engine feeling which does not have inferiority was actualized!
Because of the NA car, the highest output does not change Z type-I (304ps) with largely, but the response is wonderful.

So you tell us, it's nearly 5 months later - what happened? Where are the full pics of the ITB's? Where are the dyno charts? Where are the pics/specs of the box in your car, or your friends car? Seems to me you're the one who did just as much 'yapping' and at the end of the day, contributed 0.0% to 'the cause'. In other words, he who lives in glass houses should not throw stones.

My tranny is shot , thus just having sold my s14 to get money to fix the tranny. Times is hard so excuse me if i dont have 20Gs to dump into a ITB/Turbo/ Tranny setup for my car right now esp the way the ecomonmy is ****ed up.
Most Z guys down here in Florida like to stick toghter so its hard to reach out to Z owners like Maxima owners. When you even try to appoarch them at the local meets they like to brush you away unless I own a Z or If I was a Pamala Anderson.
I guess you guys are usually high and mighty because you own a rwd VQ. I see post about ITBs but no one seems serious enough to try it out. I see guys dumping 3gs on Works wheels another 2gs in suspension. So I know you guys are out there with the funds to do it. Just scared it to try it.
You want more proof of this setup , give Mack a few months since hes working on something. I can go over there and snap more pics of the box if you like. But since we dont have access to a Z or G (hood clearence) how do you suppose we get a dyno ? from my *** ? or should I slap on a ITBS on a FWD VQ35 and dyno it ? only to get thrashed by you Z guys ( its a FWD ) or the ever so comments of " why would you boosted a FWD ? " or " Why waste your time ?"
As for the friend with the VQswap A32 , hes on a differnt route.
Did I target my remarks at you Z1 ?
You seem to want to get personal with me ? My statement is clear to get someone to come down to the shop and have it *TEST FITTED * for this setup.
In anycase its not in my hands its in Macks.
im sorry to have bother the high and mighty Z1 guy , I must have gotten my message out and push your buttons since it tickle your panties to respond back your remarks towards me
Now maybe if I didnt own 2 mortgages and 3 other cars and bills/payments I would have more money saved and invested and done by now. Not to mention finding a 6spd to swap into the A34
Im done with this thread, I will let the ITbs do the talking when the time comes around to shutup the doubters/haters
This thread sucks. This has been discussed so much before...
First... clearance issues...
Second... Z's are DBW... How will they implement DBW into their TBs?
Third... If this is to be driven on the street, what about air filtration?
Fourth... Is it even really worth it?
