300$ headers are not in the same class at 2500$ long tubes.

I love the fact that the car is loud, I have an Rs*r exhaust and I wish my Z was louder, been looking at some test pipes, but maybe I can dream about these at least lol.

Just saw the video...wow. I thought i had a loud car, nope. My car is whispering by compared to this monster.

\Beautiful welding and design by the way, let me know if you guys need a guinea pig Z to test out this product, fix any kinks.

Serious about that guinea pig thing ...

serious

I believe that SG Motorsports is busy dialing in their race car.. as the track season is just getting underway here in Ontario.
From what I know, they are still looking into getting the right manufacturer for the long tubes, not an easy task.

Hey Guys,

I want to apologize for taking so long to get back to all of you, things have been very busy at the shop lately. About a month ago we built another set of headers for the race car, and tested them at a few test days and just a week ago we did a 3 hour endurance race - which was the real test to see if they would crack or fail.

They worked out fantastically, and our race went well! If you've ever been to Mosport you know the weather there goes from dry to rain sometimes many times per day - even at different parts of the track. I asked Randy Pobst if we should start on rains or dries and he laughed and said "dries for sure!" well Randy would have been right had it not started raining right when we were on the grid.

The car was literally un-driveable, hydroplaning above the surface and sliding down some of North America's most intimidating corners. I radioed in to the pits and told the boys as much as I didn't want to - I had to come in and put a rain setup on the car. We disconnected the rear bar and switched to rains and went back on there, now a few minutes behind the rest of the field. Lapping 2nd fastest on the track we made up a lot of time, had a fantastic pit stop at the 1.5hr mark and made up even more time - now back to dry tires, and caught up to 5th place overall towards the end of the race when we got a fuel pressure low light with 4 minutes remaining. We were only a few litres off with our fuel calculation - had I pitted just those 4 minutes later midway through the race we would have made it.

So we ended up finishing 10th overall which wasn't horrible considering the two un-necessary pit stops.

After the race we took them off the race car and there are no signs of cracking or damage to the headers. I even did a test at one lapping day where I set the idle timing to 0 degrees - to raise the EGT's to insane levels. The headers would literally glow at idle, yet despite my best efforts to crack these bad boys the welds look just as good as when they were done.

Just last night we took the headers to a local motorsport fabrication shop that specializes in building choppers, tube frame race cars, and a ton of aluminum fabrications for the motorsport industry. They seem eager to produce our headers and their welding and fabrication quality has me convinced they will be able to produce headers with the fitment and weld quality I require. We will know more about the potential in about a week or so, and as always as soon as anything happens I will let you guys know.

I'd love to get these done even sooner but spring and summer is our busiest time and we simply haven't had the time to put into getting these things produced. I promised myself I wouldn't let this project die and after last night I'm excited that headway is being made.
