Those are dramatic losses. It's too bad you weren't able to do back to back runs though.

In all three of my test cases of the Cosworth, it came out inferior as well but it never was that dramatic. Mine did show a consistent advantage for the cosworth where power would still climb pass where the stock setup would fall flat.

I don't understand. So your saying the stock manifold performs better but the cosworth carries on producing power for longer?

Please explain.

how come the air fuel curves bear no resemblence to one another from one curve to the other?

We have a different engine(high compression, cams, etc.) so I would say it should be a dramatic difference if one isnt flowing as well as another.

I dont know where I said the Cosworth carries on producing power longer...I am saying that for our build, the stock setup flows better.

With the better flow, the car started to take more fuel and more timing where before it didnt want it. The first baseline run with the stock setup, the car was running lean with the increased flow. The tune changed between the two as as well as the dyno conditions between the two runs. Im not the tuning guy, just the driver so thats the best I can describe it.

gotcha - then it would appear that those 2 runs maybe don't represent the true net change between manifolds. The results are what they are, so if the car is better with the other setup, that's all that ultimately matters

Since the dyno's aren't a direct comparison, could something else have changed to make the improvement?
Would it be worth trying the cosworth again and re-tuning to see if you get even more?

This is the only thing we changed on the car. I agree, they arent direct comparison but its good enough to prove that the stock plenum with a spacer flows better than the Cosworth. Its not really worth switching out again, its a race car, not a dyno number queen, plus I already sold it

Yes that is correct. Peak power on the built engine were almost identical but with the Cosworth it came in ~500rpm later. I would have guessed that a more rev friendly engine like Adam's or ThreeFiveZeroZ's could have had better peak HP. On the stock block the cosworth behaved the same but the HP never caught up to the stock + spacer setup.

So havent updated in a while. We are off to Sebring this weekend for 5 hours of open track time with SAFE. NASA Florida is off until September so this is all just seat time for me. I have my first wheel to wheel race in September in PBIR as I start the process to finish my rookie race license.

We ran an event last weekend at HMS for some practice and to do some testing. My best time there prior was a slow 1:43.4 on 275/35/18 R6. We had a feeling that these tires were just too much tire for the car so we went down to a 255/35/18. These tires are the same width surprisingly but a little smaller in diameter which brings the gearing up about 4.08. The temps that day were way hotter than the day I did the 1:43.4. The best time of the day was a 1:41.2 and that was with alot of traffic to manage. Ill be sure to post up if we see better performance from the these tires at Sebring this weekend. My best time there to date is a 2:34.2 or so.

We also had a throttle body take a crap in the 3rd session. The car just went into limp mode so thankfully I had a spare with me. Changed that baby in about 13 minutes and went back out. We had to go to rain tires for the 3rd and 4th sessions because of rain. It was here that I found out the hard way that I had wheel sensor go bad at some point because my ABS wasnt enabled. Nothing like locking all 4 up and going right off in turn 2 and through the wet grass!

Otherwise, the car is running strong and turning heads at every event she goes to. Stay tuned for more updates!
