This is an awesome thread, easily spent the past hour an a half reading this and i can't understand why people publish books anymore. Only thing i'd object to is that ugly splitter i personally would've gone with a foam/fiberglass one but hey thats just me. That spoiler you're running is just awesome!

Lexan back window, what thickness did you use, and how many straps? I'm looking at doing my back 3 windows in the next few weeks. Also did it flex enough or did you have to heat it up and form it?

My thoughts are 2 aluminum, 1/2 inch 90 degree straps running on the inside of the window bolted in just at the ends of the 3rd brake light. Then i was thinking rivets every 4 inches in window to the strap and sheet metal screws every 4 inches around the outside.

I could be overthinking all of this.

Was also thinking about cutting 4x , 3 inch holes in the window to bleed off high pressure from the interior.

What series do you run in Terra? Pretty sure SCCA requires at least 1/8" thickness for lexan.

Anyone planning on running the new SPEC class? Seems like a good money maker for Nissan. It would cost thousands to make your car slower. I like the concept of a Z class. Maybe down the road.......

I got the kit from LSAuto.com a number of years ago. Can't remember the thickness and I don't see it listed on their webpage anymore. It came with hardware and is bolted in with 24 small nuts and bolts. I don't use any straps and haven't had any problems with it so far.
It's a pretty flat piece that doesn't require any bending/molding. Should be fairly easy to cut your own.

With remote shocks, bolt-ons, aero, etc you are going to be very hard pressed to stay in TT/PTB. Keep in mind, you want to be on A6's or R1S's to be competitive. 225 A6> 255 R6.

A foam/FG/CF splitter would never withstand the abuse that the Fulcrum piece can. I've gone off track more times than I can count and the only repairs I have ever had to do was replacing a couple rivets. It is a highly functional and very tough splitter. It even comes with wear plates for the bottom that can easily be replaced.

If that's the case then i might have to take that back, doesn't appear as something that would be that durable.

Does the leading edge not take a hammering though?

You can make your own, or use something like the fulcrum or others.

Haven't had an update in a while. Last year life got in the way, so I didn't get out to the track as often as I would of liked. The season started this past weekend at Sebring, and unfortunately what appears to be a leaky valve cover ended our race weekend shortly after qualifying Saturday. I was getting some smoke in the cabin, and had some oil dripping from the back of the engine. The driver side valve cover is pretty gritty and dirty compared to the passenger side, so I am going to be pulling this in the next few weeks. I am signed up to instruct with Chin at Sebring in 4 weeks, so I need to get started soon!

From a longer term view, I am starting to contemplate the next step for the overall car. The car is currently classes in ST3, but I am allowed to have 350whp for my current weight of 3200 w/ driver. I have some weight reduction plans as well, but I can't see really getting the car any lighter than 3075-3100lbs. I am thinking about either going with a 3.8L stroker or the HKS s/c kit that sfarrah has been running. This isn't happening anytime soon as my current build is still very fresh.

It really should not be terrible difficult to get to 3050 w/cage IMO.

Agreed. Most of the west coast SpecZs are in the 2950-2980 range dry with cage.

So this is my final post in this thread/journey. We converted the car to Spec Z early this year, and it's for sale. https://my350z.com/forum/zs-and-gs-f...z-racecar.html. Planning to get into something cheaper and with car counts, it's looking like Spec E30. Hoping to get another Zed for the street in the intermediate future.
