Well this weekend was great. Car was pulling hard, got to play with a modded Nismo for a little while. Rained all day Saturday so I got some good experience running in pouring rain. The forecast here in South Florida doesnt look good either. 15 Day forecast has rain expected everyday...WTF! John should have some pics/videos later. Car sounded SICK!

Should be running in two weeks at Sebring with NASA Florida. Car has been doing great. My favorite part so far is convincing the local E85 station to let me put it in my Z. The E85 pumps here require you to go inside to pay so idiots dont accidently use it. While the car wont be driven much on the street in the future, from the street driving I have done, mileage has not been all that much lower than normal. Loving the $2.05/gallon =)

Running her on the dyno again today to make sure she is good for Sebring next weekend. Numbers may be a bit higher since things may of loosened up. Numbers/dyno sheet to come!

Put down some new numbers with the motor a bit more broken in. In 92 degree heat(intake air temps were 140, when they are usually 100), 296whp, 256tq on a default calibrated mustang dyno. Pretty happy with the results, got to put it on a dynojet to get my NASA time trial classification. The numbers dont give this car justice. This thing RIPS through the mid to top end. Should be a blast to drive at Sebring next weekend!

I still thinks that very impressive for those conditions! At my altitude (~4500ft), 350z's on mustang dynos put down <200 usually.

What is the max rpm that dyno stops at? Out of curiosity you should do a good tune on pump 91 to compare (you know for some random internet person's curisity

How much power do you think you would make running a compromised map with 12:1 compression and pump 91 compared to stock Z compression and a not-so compromised map? With the same modifications and just different compressions. When does adding more compression diminish output on 91 octane, is what I would like to know. I'm not sure if I want to target that compression ratio, or use a compression ratio target for E85 on my build.

Awesome build btw. I love how pure and purpose the car is, pretty much stock looking!

We actually have 93 octane here. I went with E85 because of the risk of detonation. We have not made a tune and taken the car past 5k RPM on 93 octane. This motor was too expensive to risk damaging on 93. The E85 has an octane of about 105. We chose the compression of 12:1 because its more aggressive than stock, yet not crazy. Assuming we felt 93 octane would be sufficient to make a map to 7200rpm, Id say the E85 would make a bit more power because the car actually runs cooler with it. Roger at Japtrix couldnt believe how much the temps came down when we switched from 93 octane during the breakin to the race tune on E85. The engine is built to endure up to 9k RPM no problem. However, the motor stops really making power after 7k. I have been shifting at about 7k, but have run it to 7400 when it made sense to do than to shift to 5th for a split second.

Thanks for the kind words! The car may end being a gutted caged race car, still waiting on pulling that trigger. Trying to relearn the car and shift points at the road courses we run. I spent more on this build than I would of on a built greddy twin turbo setup, cant say I regret it either! =)

Adding timing usually makes more power than adding compression does when you are near the knock limit of the fuel, so I'd sa no to a 12:1 91 octane build.

^ what? i'm confused, didn't you just say you had it on a dynojet for the NASA classification?
