what standalone are you thinking of doing? i looking into aem at one point and some said it did not work that well on these cars. i was suprised at that considering it is a full standalone computer

I have had great dealings with the guys over at Injected Performance (Dynosty?) specifically with Ryan so I would have to do Haltech.

Better to pick a tuner first THEN an engine management they are comfortable with.

I heard tuning ITBs is a very sensitive matter and it only takes a small changed in the weather to disrupt a tune. How practical is it?

I believe there was a VQ Sentra and he used ProEFI with some success.

I think it's design related. There are stock cars with ITB's. Certain BMW M's had them from the factory. I'm sure there are more.
