sorry to Hijack the thread Gabe, but i've reconsidered my build due to how expensive it is in Australia to have these installed.

I have the exact same Tomei cams as Gabe and they are Brand new in the box, with original certificates included.

Please PM me if you are interested.

For Sale thread is here:

Looks like you gained a solid 20tq throughout almost the eintire revband. Run 2 is the latest one, doesn't seem like you lost anything anywhere other than the really top end which maybe he let go on the throttle.

Did you have stock cats and stock headers prior to this? Interested in your custom intake manifold. You got any pics?

Gabe the run on top is when i only had full exhaust and the manifold, the run below is when i installed the tomei components, which mean i lost, maybe u missunderstood. u were looking at the first run thats when i gained tq about a year ago. i will post a pic of the manifold. i had stock headers prior to this, but i had berk test pipes.

I see, the dates are misleading since there is no year. It would appear that run2 would be the latest run but doesn't seem like the case as you are indicating.

run1: 05/07 273whp/221wtq
run2: 06/08 272whp/231wtq

Since that is the case, then I would agree with you that those numbers are very dissapointing. What were you running prior to the Tomei V2 Headers and TPs?

Thanks for the pic. Were there any modifications to the lower plenum?

I was running stock headers. The modifications to the lower plenum were the same as the Mrev2 from motordyne. Im sorry for the question still a newbie. What TP stand for?

put the stock top back on. I think there is too much volume with the modified lower and top.

I have the same intake manifold (DM2) on my G35 I only showed gains putting the stock top back on for some reason. The numbers were the same as with a spacer, but with the stock top on I gained.

The only thing is you have to jb weld the 6 holes in the stock top to prevent leaks due to the lower plenum holes being filled.

Give it a try before replacing both parts or headers. I have headers also.

Hey Gabe, i was reading some of your post in the beginning of this thread and you said that heat wrapping your exhaust system reduces rasp and drone. I have the agency power exhaust and i will be getting test pipes and a y pipe soon. If it reduces rasp and drone then i'm going to heat wrap everything. Was it a big difference in noise?

It was audibly different but not a dramatic one. There aren't any scientific study behind this but, we do know that hot air moves faster, wrapping does alter sound frequency and perhaps all of those enables resonance cancellation to work better in my exhaust setup. I do have resonated test pipes as well as muffled axle backs.

might just be the same idea as Dynamat for sound systems...
its kind of adding "load mass" to the exhaust tubing, thus reducing resonance.
