I also wanted to use my old tomeis 264 to test it out, but we can't hop back on to using them easily since i had some valve recession done to clear the old cams. So either change the valves, get some off the shelf cams, or ask rebello to remodel make new cams now that I have all the components. he initially modelled the cams with his LTH and teh cosworth. Will keep you updated though.
BTW, I'm still jealous...

Hey, good to hear from you again. How's your car doing?
Oil issue was mainly tune related, but i'm still keeping my fingers crossed to see if things are permanently resolved. Only time will tell. I would have to agree with Zazz, Tomei cams are much smaller, shouldn't be any reason not to use them. You wouldn't have any valve to valve or piston to valve issues at all. As for the tune, were you running rich? Only reason to be burning oil tune related, would be too much fuel being added washing down the cylinder walls causing insufficient ring seal. Not blaming Zcar, but thats the science behind correct air fuel ratio and engine efficiency. Either way. Glad things are back together, can you post new dyno graph of your retune? I like those wheels BTW, look very fitting for the blue color!!

Very good deduction. It was running way too rich and as a result the rings weren't properly sealing. I don't blame them for this issue since at the time when I got the car back we drove around with a wideband after the tune to make sure the AFR was correct in a wide range of driving conditions. It seems that something in the dynamics of things has shifted to cause this issue. This is one of the reason why I should get an AFR gauge.
SO far I've driven around another 500miles with the fixes and no oil burning but the car has definitely changed throughout this 500miles. The engine doesn't run as smooth as the first 100miles when i first got it back. I'll have to ask them about this.
Thanks

Back in korea now, but I dropped off to zcar before I left to do some work.
-Repainting part of the car and possibly changing the front bumper again for more airflow
-Rolling the fender some more
-Test out different cams
-Maybe finally trying out the 3" MAF I got a while back
-Making some modifications to my MD Gamma axlebacks to add side resonators
So probably won't be able to update much the next few weeks, sorry guys. Hopefully in May i'll get a lot of updates for this thread.

After four months in the body shop, new coats of OE color, new sideskirts, and a new bumper with a nice large center opening.
Painted the roof and rear diffuser gloss black and will probably do the same to the side rear view mirrors. Still have tons of small to big projects remaining on the car and hopefully everything will be done by year end.

Shieeet... aiming straight for the gut...
Engine is donig well so far, got a retune to fix some drivability down low but ultimately the problem won't go away until we change the cams out. The drivability issue is the bogging at around 2-2.5k rpm, but nothing I can't prevent by altering my shifting habits. Car can idle at 900rpm now though. I'll keep the car in my possession for the next month or so to thoroughly monitor the oil consumption and to also allow me to take it to the track before the summer ends. I'll also get my ICE project done during this time to before it'll go back in the shop for the oil/cam stuff.

Thanks, I hope so as well. Build has been in progress for a god awful long time but it's coming along. Unfortunately, I don't think any of the builds here in this section has taken a smooth easy path. It's just problem or delays after one another. I'm fortunate that I haven't had your issue of having bad builders and I really feel for you but I'm glad you are moving along regardless. We need a moral support subsection in here...

I'll start.
I'm e30cabrio and I'm a modaholic. :P
I spoke to the machinist yesterday. When I dropped it off 10 or so days ago there was no mention of a delay. Yesterday with an attitude when I asked the horrible how is it going question he said it had not started because it's behind a 455 and 350. He said it will start next week. At least I'm used to it by now.
