Default Power Loss, mostly stock HELP

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this so I sorry if this is in the wrong section. So for the most part my car is pretty stock except for a JWT popcharger and MD 5/16 spacer. A couple weeks ago I noticed a slight power loss and for the week or so I wasn't positive if there was something wrong or if it was just in my head. So I checked under the hood to look for anything visibility wrong and noticed my popcharger air filter wasn't even connected. There was the stock piping and then about a 2 inch gap and my air filter. So I reattached it and figured that would fix it. Nope, one of my friends thinks its just in my head but It seems most noticeable to me when I go from a complete stop like at a stop light. Seems like I have to give it more than I used to for my driving style.

I don't no if this light has always been on or not and I can't even find out what it means. I looked through the manual but couldn't find anything. Thought it meant low coolant at first but I checked and its fine.

Is there any chance when I filter was off my popcharger that something bad got sucked in? Any common things that cause slight power loss. Thanks for any helpful input.

Default gap

so you began running an insaine air/fuel mixture due to tons of exra air comming into the engine, ( didnt catch if the gap was before or after the MAF) and your ECU is doing its best to compensate fuel leaning or enrichment..or is all the way into limp mode.

Search for the "technosquare ECU reset" procedeure...do it, Drive for a few days, I bet 50 bucks problem solved. It will take a few days of start n stop and driving conditions to relearn the curves.. but yeah, your air gap causees major ECUsettings issues.

Enjoy your weekend, your car isnt dead.

Tried that the other day actually but I'll try it again and make sure I do it correctly and then give it a couple days. If that doesn't help anything else it could be? Thanks for the input bmccann

Any idea on that light?

That light is a stock light for temperature. I am not sure what if anything is wrong with your car but the light is not one of your worries.

So is that light on for everyone? It just sort of annoys me as I for some reason I don't remember it always being there.

So I get in my car after work today and start it and it my gas gauge is alll the way to completely empty and my dash gash is just flashing 200 miles till empty so I try to figure out wtf happened and after 30 seconds turned the car off and back on right away and it was fine. Not sure what that means if anything but figured I'd post it in case someone knows more.

Reset my ECU gave it a couple days, it seems like its still there. I just got test pipes and HKS exhaust yesterday. Anything else you guys could think of that could cause lower rpm power loss. Dirty or bad spark plugs or anything?

It's the intake, take it off and go back to stock.

Do you remember going through any especially dirty, dusty, or partical filled air while the filter was ajar?

It isn't the intake I had it on for months without any issues.

I don't think I went through any dusty areas but anything is possible. Are you thinking something got sucked in that shouldn't of?

Try cleaning your maf sensor. If it gets dirty it really messes with the ecu. Make sure you go to an autoparts store to buy the correct cleaner or you will have to pay a couple of hundred bucks for a new one.

Yeah, it doesn't take much dust and dirt sucked in to an engine before damage occurs. It will lose compression and power and just run badly. To test run a compression check.

Get the spray from the autoparts store. Take off your sensor. It's that plug that you had to swap from your stock intake to your aftermarket one. Spray the cleaning solution onto the metal part of the sensor. Read directions of cleaner for best results. Hint do not have it soaking wet with the cleaner or your will need to replace it.

Got it and used it along with an ECU reset, put about 70 miles on the car since. Still feels like I'm really lacking in the lower rpm. I no the exhaust and tp don't help low end but idn it doesn't seem right. Could spark plugs have anything to do with it? Any other ideas?

Always good to check, but seldom the cause. What would be good to check when your in the spark plug area is the compression. Really easy to do once you have the plugs ready to come out. The tester costs about $20-$40, so its reletively cheap as well.

You'll want to see all the cylinders within 10% of the others and should read higher than 160 PSI.
