Default Need some experienced opinions on cam choices, please!

Well I'm finally moving to the point where I'll be doing cams/springs, rod bolts, oil pump and looking for the most streetable N/A power on the stock bottom end.

I've searched around the forums, but almost all of the cam comparisons are on F/I vehicles, which makes it very hard to determine what shape the powerband will take on a N/A car.

My setup is as follows:

FWD VQ35DE
-3.5" intake, 76MM maf (matches TB)
-SSIM'd FWD intake manifold with NWP spacers (performs very well above 6k)
-Cattman Headers/Y-pipe, we have no long tube options.
-3" catback
-UTEC tuning

Along with the cams, I'll be doing some minor head porting and additional IM porting.

Looking at Kevin's build, you can see that the SSIM'd FWD manifold stays about 20whp behind his ITBs all the way up to 8k rpms, so as far as I can tell that makes the SSIM look like a pretty great option for a high revving setup. I am, however, slightly doubtful that my headers would be optimal above 7500 rpms.

So I'm looking for a powerband starting around 4500ish up to 7500-8000.

My less extreme choices are:
JWT C2... 261/261 11.58mm
BC S2..... 264/264 10.82mm

And bigger ones that I'm not sure about:
JWT C8....272/272 12mm
Others? I'm sure there are plenty of choices in the 268-272 range.

Obviously I don't want to overdo it and get cams that want to rev higher than I am able to make power, but I also don't want to go to small and always wonder how much is still on the table.

Really looking for some experienced recommendations on both lift and duration. It seems like the JWT C2s offer the best lift for the lower duration cams, but I'm not certain if the extra lift is optimal for a N/A car when velocity is so important. I also see that Tomei recommends a slightly higher duration/lift on the intake side than exhaust side for a N/A car, does anybody have experience with that?

Thanks for any input.

Bump.

I'm looking at the tomei 272 cams with the 10.8 lift, as they state you can keep the stock springs. I'll still upgrade them though.
