He is putting it together "tomorrow". I have to get a ton of work done by Friday am. when I go on vacation. I hope to be able to drop it off so it can go in next week while I am gone.

Shroud is on eBay, guy had a make offer button accepted 130 down from his buy it now 159.99 price. (plus 30 shipping)

Glad to hear the smoke was just the pvc.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Mechanic just called, ranting saying the same thing over & over.

BOTTOM LINE:

He bent an oil control ring assembling a piston into the block (29 bucks to replace) and is "eating" the time he has into it and wants me to go get my parts.

Man. You are having more hurdles with this project than anyone I've ever seen. Good Luck!

dont get discouraged, it will be worth it in the end to have it done right, so dont try to cut corners to get it done faster

Cut what corners? I have gone the extra mile at every turn. I will either sell the parts and move on or have it done right.

I am not making any hasty decisions, I am going on vacation Friday and deciding what I will do next while I am gone for a week.

Sorry to hear, I had a hard time putting the pistons in with a generic ring compressor. But after I bought this....I could believe how easy it was. I know it sucks but maybe its worth buying with the new ringset.

but sounds like your builder sucks bro. and im sorry to hear that. but if you sell the stuff, i'll take that shroud for $70 ok? ok.

good luck, you know i'll keep checking on ya. cant wait til saturday, i feel like a lil kid....but then again i dont when i have to fork out 5bills :\

UPREV made great gains for me. I agree he ruined the wrist pin clips and now an oil control ring. The worst thing is he called me complaining like I did something to him.

seriously, just ship the parts somewhere to a reputable, well known shop, may be a little pricey, but you know it will be done right, imo
