THAT JUST HAPPENED - 372whp
i have been following your guys builds for a long time, and its great to see the progression. numbers are great, and that engine sound,,, sad to see you guys close but i hope you guys continue playing with these motors and find out what works and what doesnt.
He didn't make more power because of the change in the manifold. He made more power because the engine had more access to free air. So, no, the stock manifold is not a pile of poo.
I find it laughable that you'd even try to debate me on this one, as there are guys in this very sub forum with more headwork done than SG and haven't even crossed the 300whp barrier on the stock manifold.

I think you're realistically pushing closer to $10k+ in parts alone...Hell, I doubt $5k could get you just the ITB's if you include the tuning for it!
ITBs....$2.5k?
Haltech....$2.5k?
Cams....$1k
Headers...$1-2k
Exhaust....$1k
Convert to cable throttle....$???
Pistons, Rods, springs, rings, etc......$????
Tune...???
Sounds bad azz lol...
Sorry for the, maybe newbish, question. But is he tapping on the brakes as he is accelerating? Seating the pads is the only thing i can think of...right?

there you go

there is no doubt that it did happen
you want to see his Z in action ?

guys that want to get about the same result ...
please search his built because thats gonna be way much higher than 5k in parts alone !!!
20-25k would be more reasonable to be able to hit anything close to 375whp NA (parts & labour)

Actually, that's exactly why he made the power he did: the stock manifold is rubbish, and it was documented by SG the positive changes made to the intake (sans headwork) making huge gains.

No need to be pretentious..
I might not have phrased it the way I was thinking, but I don't think you understood what SG meant, either. I meant that the volume or the flow of the plenum itself isn't much of an issue as much as the actual flow characteristics of the intake tract prior to reaching the plenum.

No gains were found, so the next logical step was to increase airflow into the plenum. A large 3.5” hole was opened in the top of the plenum with a velocity stack that would allow airflow additional to what was coming through the factory throttle body. That 25 wheel horsepower came right back, so we concluded inlet flow was more of an issue than the actual plenum flow. The engines power output at this point was 334whp.
thats what I thought it was atleast? I could be wrong too lol.

Agreed. Would be very interested in seeing your build info.
