Default 210 hp stock? 2003

Well, guys, this could be in the wrong place, if so please move it. Anyhow, last night, I slapped my car on the dyno for the first time. My car is all stock. I wanted to dyno it before my mods so I can see what kind of power I made. So, it was a dynojet, it was 83 degrees, and the humidity gauge was reading 76.6. Not exactly the best conditions, but my hard pull through fourth gear resulted in 210 hp at 6k Rpm's. I was expecting more.. Does it sound on par to you?

You only did one pull on the dyno? Sounds like it was probably too hot for the dyno pull. BTW, as far as I remember, the pull should have been done in 5th gear.

Good idea on getting a baseline, though.

1074 horsepower at 6600 Rpm's!!!!
Hitting the rev limited messed everything up.. Lol but I have the paper that shows it

The guy running the dyno said 4th gear is a 1:1 ratio.. I don't know. Like I said this was my first time.

It's been a loooong time since I've done a dyno on my car, but I believe 4th gear (so to speak) is for auto's and 5th gear is for the manuals. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though.

The heat and humidity definitely affected your numbers. There's at least a 20% loss of power through the drivetrain to the wheels when calculating HP. You should have seen numbers in the 230's. Maybe those numbers you got could be correct.

210-215 would not be unusual depending on several factors

...Was that reading with "SAE" correction or raw reading?

The first time I dyno'd the Z, it was below freezing outside and my car was fairly new. I remember seeing ~242whp on the graph. I was pretty stoked about that.

No problem. It's a learning experience. I would go ask the shop owner where you did the dyno.

I'm going back today so I will definitely ask and let you know. It's a mobile dyno at "scrapin the coast" on the Mississippi gulf coast.

Make sure you get a sheet or whatever they can give you so you can scan and post it here.

It does sound low…I agree with Smooth, a stock setup will yield 230 to 240whp.

Whenever I dyno, it seems that the first few pulls are low / lower…so see if you can't get 3, maybe 5 pulls in.

I'll state the obvious, but can I assume your air filter has been changed in the last few months and you have no Check Engine Lights on? how is your fuel economy - part of me thinks you have a bad(or going bad) o2 sensor?

First off, the dyno tech was wrong about fourth gear. Fifth gear is 1:1 and depending on the condition of your VQ, you'll see between 235-245 hp at 6200 PRM. That's easily verifiable by doing just a little research.

The filter could use replacing. No check engine lights. And I have a print out just nothing to scan it with. I'll try to get a decent picture of it.

Like Smooth said,

Auto 1:1 Gear = 4th
Manual 1:1 Gear = 5th

So if he did all 3 pulls in 4th gear that is probably your problem

Numbers do seem low..

If in 4th, your hp will be lower with a higher peak, but with a bit higher torque. What was your torque number?

It's a ten year old car. How many miles? What does all this mean if the rings scraped the bore metal a billion times & the cam lobes are half way worn out. Springs have no spring to them. I left out a thousand more things.
If I had an 03, I'd be happy that it ran & took me places. I'm sorry, I just don't get it....
