DE RaceCar Dyno Numbers (Stock Long Block)
*Dyno Sheet will not be provided. I prefer to keep the specifics private from competition. Read into that what you want, but it's how it is.
Motor is a 37k mile DE out of an 04 Auto Convertible. 190psi across the board, very low leak down. Really got lucky with this motor. It is always a crap shoot when you buy a used, unseen motor, but it worked out.
Motor Mods:
Custom intake w/3" MAF
5/16" Motordyne Spacer
UR Crank Pulley
600cc DW Injectors
255lph DW Pump
Tomei V2's
Z1 Test pipes
Motordyne XYZ with resonator (have to have it to make sound restrictions)
Full Titanium w/resonator JIC Exhaust
Runs on E85
Uprev - No compromise tune. Very limited mile race car. Would be borderline and very aggressive for a DD Car.
I have actually run same day on this dyno and a dynojet (SAE) on the same day in years past. Dynojet read about 2.5% higher (in SAE) than the dyno used for this tune.
Results:
296whp/284wtq (figure about 302/290 SAE on a dynojet).
Much stronger than I had expected. I actually ran 108.5mph in the 1/4 making 270whp on the same dyno and at about 150lbs heavier than the car is now several years ago.

Nothing fancy, just a 3" tube, port matched velocity stack (to the 80mm inlet on the maf) and a filter. Probably test a larger TB/Manifold/3.5" Intake setup in a month or so. I think there is another 10-12whp in correct intake set-up.
Can't upgrade cams in the class I run, so have to maximize things on the breathing side. Tentatively planning to move the car to NASA TT3 in 2015, which would mean I can do cams. I would hope to make 325whp with just cams, assuming I can get it up near 308-310whp before the top end stuff.

Speaking of breathing, have you looked into the process that Z1 has been applying to the VQ37HR/VQ35HR platform? Specifically with the intake runners, have heard people speculating a gain in top end power with minimal sacrifice in mid/low - haven't seen results or much feedback about it though. Referring to the "Intake Plenum Power Mod" they've recently advertised.

I doubt it. The motor in the car is super strong. The E85 is good for about 12whp/10wtq on the old motor. I still have about 5-8whp that can be gained, but that's about it. I would say about 285-290whp is about it on 93oct, but you have very efficient breathing mods and LOTS of tuning. That tune would probably not be all that safe for DD type stuff either.
