Kinetix Velocity dyno tested on fully built DE
This is the result of swapping in a Kinetix velocity manifold on a built DE engine, for the full build details check my other thread. Removed was a APS tallboy plenum with stock nonrevup lower and replaced with the Velocity manifold. Not same day but the curves tell the story. NWP 75mm tb used for both dyno's and intake from tb forward is a Samco tube, 75mm ID maf housing with stock maf, then a custom 3.5" cold air with amsoil filter featuring internal molded velocity stack(Amsoil makes a nice filter IMO). Tuning was performed after manifold swap. On with pictures.

Maybe in the future uprev maf in a 3.5" intake pipe to TB, and replace 3" neck on Velocity with 3.5". The torque from the velocity manifold was unexpected, also the added 10whp at 7k on the STD correction dyno chart. Beside the loss of less than 2whp in a couple hundred rpm area the Velocity manifold really performed IMO.

I'm calling z1 tomorrow to schedule tune for my V1 velocity monaifold setup. I'm still expecting to see some gains over my 1/2" spacer & V+ setup. And I'll be taking my larger TB down with me. It's not the NWP TB, but it's the same TB basically except it went on the V8 Infiniti M45. All the measurements are the same though.
I feel the huge reason you are able to take advantage of the velocity being NA is you have the 3" MAF and intake tubing. And would you be able to widen the velocity neck to 3.5" and still fit on the log?

Short ram intake has been run before switching to current setup. The current intake and filter location(near ambient air from a high pressure source when moving) is very hard to beat. Larger V stack is ideal but it's really splitting hairs, there is a much larger restriction somewhere. It's an ongoing project, thankfully there has been a lot very useful information shared on here over the years.

That is the route I'm looking to go, but on a stock engine, I'm going to do something I will regret (wallet wise) but I want to do it to get a good base info.
I'm currently on a borla, lower plenum, spacer and stillen intake. When I'm ready, I'm going to go put it on a dyno to see what it does, then change my intake setup and dyno, then exhaust setup and dyno. Then last, tune it.

good stuff, a nwp/ m45 tb and 3.5 inch intake are on my list of things to do... and putting on a ings tq dampner thats been sitting in my garage for months. then just headers and cams i guess :/ . what all do you have done other than the intake bits?

93 octane fuel and I don't think it's the cams. I still think intake restriction, the way the revup lower or Cosworth has been shown to move the powerband to the right. I think the Velocity manifolds plenum volume is to small for this setup. Just my thoughts but without a way to test who knows.

Edit: So you lost power, right (at first I thought you were reporting gains which confused me)? I expect a loss of power will always be the case with Kinetix as we have similar builds minus cams. I replaced my 5/16th Motordyne Plenum Spacer & stock plenum + JWT pop charger (green line) with:
-port matched lower runners/
-port matched Kinetix Velocity plenum/
-port matched NWP 75mm TB
-3.5" stainless steel intake + K&N filter
I actually lost substantial power as shown in the other lines (best pulls with this setup tuned) here:
Kinetix plenum/NWP TB setup actually did SLIGHTLY better when we put the stock 2.75" intake piping and JWT pop charger back on interestingly...
So... I ended up selling it all, and putting the motordyne plenum spacer & pop charger back on

The Kinetix is the red lines on the dynos. The torque curve is better and the power before and after peak is better. The loss of less than 2whp at peak but the gain of 5-10whp from 6500-7500rpm. I just wish that there was an SAE correction dyno sheet. Your dyno posted above is uncorrected as well which is probably a very poor comparison. The evolution of this package is ongoing. To answer the long intake killing top end comments, look at the Fontana Nissan race car and also Kac07 had a dyno that ripped to redline with an Injen long intake but with a Cosworth intake manifold. Pop charger is a horrible intake, the ID of the venture is 3" while the stock maf housing is 70mm so there is a lip which negates most of the venturi's effectiveness. The popcharger also sucks so much hot air. Having the filter out in front of the rad in such a high pressure area(when moving) is good. When running such a large maf housing on a comparatively small displacement engine having a longer piece of pipe in front of it also(my hypothesis) stabilizes airflow and air temp making the car run smoother. Obviously running a MAP based engine management would be nice because datalogging manifold pressure and AFR would be great to test intake modifications. Discuss...
