Default Club Checklist

All,

I think that we need to come up with a checklist of items that we need to complete to call ourselves a legitimate club.

Once we have done so, we can start to seek sponsors and hopefully leverage our combined buying power to save us some money!

These are some of the things I think we need to acomplish within the next few weeks.

1: Establish a list of members so that we can have an accurate head count.

2: Establish clear guidelines to membership, with minimum participation level. I know sometimes life can get busy, but members should contribute in order to reap the benefit of the club.

3: Design contest for out logo.

4: Elect officers ? (Lek.. does NGC have that?)

5: Establish date for our first meeting.
a. Establish our weekly/bi-weekly? meet location.

I'm tired so I am sure I am forgetting allot. Please add to my list any ideas you may have. we can always remove them later.

Def all great points Mike.

From what I have seen the National G Club is very loosely based, with a few members organizing things on their own. I hope we can set some very basic minimum requirements for membership and form a leadership commitee(s) of sorts.

National G Club although it's "loosely based" has a "governing structure." We have a group of "elders" (5 of us) that meet when needed to make decisions about the club. For instance, National Z Club idea was discussed amongst the "elders" of NGC. For the most part everyone is super busy so I run the show taking occasional advice from the other 4. But the club is mostly democratic... where we here out everyone's opinion on things. I get calls all day from members regarding something they may not agree with or some idea they have and we work things out.

Our membership requirements was always so informal... but it's worked for NGC... hence we're the biggest g club in the states. When joining NGC you're either gonna love us or hate us. So if you hate us you'll automatically remove yourself from the group.

Plus we have some pretty good sponsors that take good care of us. The club is going on it's 4th year... I'd say it's working out quite well.

shout out to:

Dave - Function Tuned

Tavis, Justin, and John - Infiniti of Tysons Corner

Gary Miller - Dentmasters

Pat - Infiniti of Annapolis

Just a note, for some of us RVA guys making weekly/bi-weekly meetings might be hard.

National Z club meet track day, we all pitch in and rent out a track that would be kinda cool maybe if you wanted to do that, or a National Z Club Dyno day.

We had looked into a track day before. Then we found out to rent out the track exclusively for us was a lot of $$$. It wasn't worth it. Its probably better to organize a meet at the track and whoever wants to run but getting the whole track for yourself would be tougher. Just my thought.

i think the z guys have been doing it for a while now and it ended up being like 70 bucks a person if you can get a lot of people out which they can... but if we combine the two clubs into one event...it might be even less...

Thats what I was gonna say, get the two clubs together and it will be no problem. Aceman has been organizing events like this for a while now. The last one got rained out, but it was only going to be $65 per car. Pretty reasonable!

Give it some time this section will blow up. Its like the Northeast Regional Section and NGC Section on Driver. Everyone just posts in our forum. At first it was a little slow. 3 years later NGC has more posts than all of 6mt.net
