Default New Owner: Dumb question about VDC Light

The other day, it rained the first time in a few months so I figured I would do a quick donut in a empy parking lot since my old WRX never could... unless in the snow. Anyways I turned the VDC off. After I did one quick 360, the VDC and slip light stays on. I press the button and it wont turn off at all. Only turns off when I restart my engine. Is this normal? I don't think my friends Z did this... Although it was a while ago. Anyways let me know if you guys have any ideas. Thanks!

A little bitter are we?

This is normal, and occurs when VDC equipped cars are put on the dyno as well. Don't sweat it. I think the computer just reaches a point where the variance in wheel speed (and possibly yaw sensing) is too much for it to calculate correction for, so it effectively shuts off. Resetting it (by restarting the car) is effectively a "reboot" to clear the condition.

Default No. TCS is subordinate to VDC.

TCS turns the slip light ON. When you turn VDC OFF, you turn TCS OFF. Something is wrong. Have it checked.

VDC is not really "off" even when you push the "off" button. My car on the dyno, with VDC set to off will still trip the slip light to steady on until I power-cycle the car. Turning VDC back on without restarting doesn't help either. It's normal behavior and there's no need to take the car in.
