Default Looking to buy a used Z....03' with only 5800 miles!

I am going to look at a 2003 350Z touring tomorrow. It is loaded with just about every option including Navigation. White/Gray , 6spd manual .....The car only has 5780 miles on it and was driven by a Dr. who never took it out.

He is asking $26k for it and I figure I can probably talk him down to $24k, with used car interest rates at 7-9% I am looking at $450-$500 a month if i borrow around $25k. If I go with a new 05-06' 350Z I am looking at only 2.9-4.5% interest and payments would be around $580-$630, is it worth it to go new or would you buy the 2003 with practically no miles??

Thanks!

I went to test drive this 2003 today, it looks brand new and has every option, to be this car new with everything it has would be well over $30k which will end up being $7k+ more..... I am leaning towards new but if I can get this one for the right price I am very tempted, what do you think the "right price" would be to buy this car instead of going new.....?

5,800 miles on a 2003! Do a CarFax on that bad boy. This stinks like dead fish.

+1 on the CarFax! This is a must. You will do yourself a real favor by doing "due diligence" on this - or any - car purchase. There are good deals out there every now and then (and this may be one of them )... then again, there are some real "tar babies" (anybody remember that story) out there that, once purchased, turn into the car from Hell (and this may be one of them ).

Run a CarFax... a reputable dealer with nothing to hide will be glad to do it for you... free! Also get the name of the previous owner and contact him/her.

Don't hesitate or feel "pushy" asking the dealer for this... remember, "he is overhead, you are profit!"

Best of luck on your quest... well, really, you make most of your own luck!

i would probaly go new but on the other hand i recently bought an 03 touring and have had zero problems with it. but i also bought it from a dealer and got it certified so i was able to get a good extended warranty so im not worried about anything being wrong with the car. good luck this is a big decision. also remember its nice to own your possesions not have them own you. so be careful how big of a payment you get.

If you go new you will pay more, but you also have that three year warranty...

I think $25K at 8% is ~$508/60 months or ~$609/48 months...

I would go New 05/06 with warranty

You can buy a new Entusiast for around $28,000 which would be a much better deal than ANY 03 model at $26,000. Don't get caught with bells/whistles such as navi.

Thanks for all the replies......The car is from a DR. who has 4 cars.....I went to his house today to drive it.....the car is beautiful and is fully loaded (does not have navigation like the friend thought), It is white with a blk/oyster interior, very nice....6spd manual ....it is a tourning model, leather, heated seats, tape and cd etc.....very clean....odometer read 5890 miles.........He said he is firm on $25,000

I have not priced this exact car at the dealership but Im guessing im looking at around $30-$32k for the car new......even an 05'.......

I will have to think about it....

It is tempting but I'd at least get a price from a dealer for an 06 Enthusiast.
If it less than $3000 I'd go for the 06. Miles are low but it is still an 03; Nissan has improved a bunch of stuff in 3 years.

You might also find out how much warrenty is left on the 03. He is good on miles but probably close on the 36 months.

The Enthusiast has the same essentials as Touring; just not as many whistles.

Whatever you decide, you will enjoy the Zzzz! Let us know what you end up with!

I assume that you are looking at white on white: Pikes Peak White with leatherette interior. Unique combination. Offer $22,750. No more.
