Talking Buying a new 06 350Z Roadster or Coupe, thought?

Hi there Guys

Well My first post here. And getting back into riding something nice again after 4 boring years of driving a daewoo lanos, yeah I know, dont get me started. Previously Ive owned Opel Superboss and Opel Coupe Turbos, so I am no starnger to performance cars.

Anyway, I am not the most patient of guys and have only 2 choices of 350Z,
Anything else will be a 2-3 month wait.

1. Colour, Burning Red, Manual, Hard Top (Coupe), Black Leather.
2. Colour, Black, Auto Tiptronic, Soft Top (Convertable), Black Leather.

My ideal colour is the sunset, orangy one, with the burnt orabge leather seats, but that would be a 3 month wait.

I hear the coupe is faster because it is lighter, also the coupe is a manual, so still faster. The convertable is heavier and automatic, so I guess performance wise I should get the coupe.

What do you guys think?

I will be buying one of them Friday, will post plenty pics.

Help!!!

Cheers

Odin

Not to take anything away from the coupe (beautiful cars), but if you want something a little more unique go with the roadster. mine's a 05 manual as well.

Yes, I agree.
Ok,but will have a long hard wait, as I want Le Mans Sunset Exterior, with the Burnt Orange Leather interior.
So it will be a long 3 month wait, but it will make it even sweeter once it arrives :-)

I love the white seats with the blue car, looks awesome dutchboy.

But mine will look even nicer, hehehe

Cheers

Another vote for topless here.

Why are these two cars the only ones available? Aren't they any other dealers within 50 miles or so that might have one (i.e., Roadster in your favorite color) you'd like better?

You will be happy with either. No congratulations until the keys are in your hand.

Gotta add to the ZR vote Total man... I am Lovin it man. U seem set on your color selection & I am certain that Lemans Sunset would stand out (well what Z doesn't). I have an SS ZR and still like the thought of that Burnt Orange interior. Get what you want 3 months will go by so fast though it will be one hell of a wait. Better than havin' it and wishin it was another color.

Best of luck it u choose the 3 month wait.

If you live in a place where it almost never rains or you got another ride for foul weather, get the ZR but get the manual..whats the point of gettin a sports car if it aint manual?

Personally I think you should wait & get precisely what you want; always better in long haul.

Between the two you mentioned I'd go coup. The vert looks great with top down but not great with it up. Plus the Coup will handle better & is a manual.

The coupe does handle better but that is almost to be expected. So far as everyone saying it doesn't look as good with the top up or it's ugly I don't think any convertible (softtop) looks as good with the top up as it does with the top down. Once u own a ZR - all that crap goes out the window. It's a Sexy ride regardless and all who see u will say the same.

If you really can't wait 3 months, then go for the manual. If that means it's the coupe, so be it...

I have heard some coupe owner try to look for ways to knock the roadster, but I can’t stand it.I have to ask. Why do you think the coup is better in the rain?? It is slightly heaver. I would think if anything that would help in the rain. It’s a little louder, but I got to tell ya. I love the sound of the rain on the top! It’s so darn cool.

Default Convertible all the way!!

Few things are better than a moonlight ride with the top down in the middle of summer. Ride it to the local ice cream stand for a tasty treat and the women there will be gawking. Get the convertible with manual, you won't regret it.
