hey everyone, i just got a used black 05 350z, 35th edition, ill post pics when i can, i'm 17 and live in Las Vegas, Nevada (Henderson really). i got it for just under $20k from a dealer, it has 41k mls on it and is in very good shape. but it seems to be missing VDS and TCS and cruise control. i was wondering if nissan produced z w/o them or if the previous owner most likey took them out?

Congrats and welcome fellow Vegas Z owner!
Sounds like you bought a Base model, it probably wont have LSD either unless the PO added it.
Post those pics up.

If you don't have VDC or cruise control, then you did not buy a 35th which makes sense that you paid what you did. Do a search on the VIN. Sounds as if something isn't right.

Sorry to burst your Bubble but that is not a 35th edition..
You should get your money back.

My car came with VDC, Leather Power Seats, Brembo's, 35th mats, Side Airbags, NAV, LowJack, ..

Congrats. I live in Vegas too and was looking at that Z. The higher mileage and the fact that it is a base stopped me from getting it. The price was good but I gotta have an Enthusiast at least!

I got my eye on an 04 touring or 06 Enthusiast right now.

Doubt you have LSD, but if you would like to check for yourself. Jack up the rear of the car and place some jack stands. Then from either rear wheel rotate the wheel. The desired result would be both wheels spinning in the same direction indicating you have LSD. If the wheel that you are not rotating spins in the opposite direction of the wheel you are rotating then you have a open diff.

No LSD unless it was added after. Even though its a base, its still a great car...nothing wrong with that!

Exactly what I was thinking.
Who cares what trim it has?
Are you happy with the price?
DO you like it?
If both answers are Yes, perfect.

By the way, it does look like a nice car. If I could have got that car at 17, I'd be over the moon about it.

Think I was about 19 when I got my first sports car, not as nice, but damn it felt good.

Enjoy it, now just dont be as irrisponsible at 17 as I was at 19, and you should be fine

cheers

O

mitchjetz, kinda off topic, just wondering what High School you go to? My youngest doughter just graduated from Silverado this year.

Like odin said keep responsible! And stay away from any girls in a blue tC or I will have to hunt you down

41K on an '05 ... someone put a **** load of miles on that thing. I would definitely get an early 60k maintenance service package.

Congrats. You bought yourself a lot of car. Please drive responsibly, and really get to know it's characteristics before going crazy.

Salvo, I am the 2006- 2007 Student Body President @ Silverado... =) so i might know ur daughter, oh btw my name is Jordan Mitchell, maybe she might reconize it, from either my position( this last year i was the junior prez, i put on her prom), wrestling, soccer, or volleyball, i have played all 3 for MY school for the last few years. if u dont mind telling me (or pm me) whats ur daughter's name?

to help comfort all of u on my responsibility level, i also have a 4.2 GPA and i am working to attend the Air Force Academy for college, if not that BYU(Provo).

i know i have a ton to learn about the car and how to drive well. thats the reason i am on this forum. =)

Zmania, i didn't buy the car myself, i convinced my parents to get me it, i had a 300z tt that i bought as sumewhat of a project car, but around Xmas time we decided the engine needed to be rebuilt, unfortunately i don't have the tools or any where near the knowledge or experience to rebuild a 300z motor ( tiny space big engine too many hoses to count). so we had a expert nissan mech look @ it, and it would have cost $20k to rebuild the engine alone (btw250,000 mls on it) then some to but it back in and fix a lot of the other faulty peices.... so i went and found this 350z online and decided it would be cheaper and safer to just get a new more relieable car.

Odin, HECK YES I LOVE THIS CAR!! it has been my mini dream car since i first saw the concept. :-P
