Whats up guys. Got my Z about a month ago and I have a couple questions. My tires are 275/35/19 in back and 245/35/19 in the front. Both low profile types with 44 max psi and 50 max psi respectively. Just wondering what you recommend keeping in there. Just got the front ones replaced and the tire guy said 40 psi up front. I have the rear at 34 right now. I don't want the tires to wear down super fast but I also want the best performance. I'd trust you guys more than the guy selling me the tires.

Second thing - have any of you tried these mod chips that claim extra horsepower and mpg? Are they bs or for real? Have there been adverse effect to your engine?

I have cat-back Magnaflow exhaust would headers be worth adding?

I already have injen cyborg cold air intake + the custom exhaust...any suggestions on affordable hp gains? Do those tornado/vortex intake additions do anything?

Thanks

HI jdo, welcome to the board. Congratz on getting your Z. As for the tires im not quiet sure, but im sure another member will chime in with his advice. As for the horsepower, bolt on's arnt very potent on the Z. Sure they will add a little hp 5-10hp being my guess. And if youre looking for more mods. Try a plenum spacer, and a UTEC will bring some nice gains

Thanks for the advice...I'll look into that stuff. I heard that headers wouldn't do a huge amount for the car but I was still wondering I guess.

1. I would set the tires at 35psi when the tires are cold

2. Headers will give you extra hp, but there are expensive to buy and expensive to install. If you have not got a plenum or a plenum spacer I would look into that (cheaper hp gains) and you could always add headers later. I never heard of a chip increasing mpg but instead used to custom tune your car for the mods you have to gain max hp. tornado/vortex is garbage (from what I hear) and do not give any decent gains.

Welcome!

you think i should set both the max 50 and max 44 at 35 or just the 44's and leave the 50's at 40? that's confusing but you know what i'm saying...

and in regard to the plenum/plenum spacer can you tell me more about them - what the best ones are - how much they cost to buy/install etc....? Thanks

Set all four to 35psi, I believe the max on mine is 50psi or so but that is way too much. 35psi when the tires are cold equals around 39psi when the tires are hot. Imagine putting 40 or 50psi cold then going over a hard bump in the road... you can imagine. I think you should search on all those topics, because it has been discussed many times. You will not find all your answers in any one post, but if you are sincere about your Z and gaining power you will want to search and gain all the info you can. I suggest you do that, good luck.

Go to yahoo, type in crawford Z, go to the website, find the video describing the plenum, watch it, then when you get done with that do some more research.
