Yeah man, don't worry about them. You and lots of people your age have worked their asses off to get a Z - you earned it and deserve it. I just bought mine on my own as well, I'll be 20 next month.

OMG I know exactly how you feel. I got my first Z when I was 23 - a silver touring model, 2004. I took so much crap for it. But I was working and paying a payment just like any other car owner. Plus I'm female so that didn't go over so well with some of my jealous male friends. I didn't buy the car to race and dog out, I bought to drive it and enjoy it. Alas, I traded it to save my marriage - and somehow ended up with an 06 base model a couple of weeks ago. I bought myself a graduation present because I WANTED IT.

I love the base model - for the amount of negative I had when trading, I got a great deal and all the power I want. That's all I care about - fun driving! Enjoy your Z - you deserve it!! Congrats!

Its totally worth it. I just dropped 10 g's on my Z and depleted most of my money. And I couldn't be happier! haha

Right on!! Congratz. I luv those looks that I get from haterz. I almost feed on that. Make ur own path and enjoy the ride. Its such a sweet thang, don't care if people hate it, only care if people luv it. And when I bought mine in black, I can tell ya a lot of people luv it. Mod it up and turn more heads but at the end of the day its when you catch yourself staring at your Z thinkin its hot. That's where it counts.
