Wink New Z First sports car

Hi all,
Last week I got my first 350Z. It is a 2006 coupe and I really love it, although right now it is getting a scrape on the rear bumper taken out that was the dealer's fault. Hopefully I get it back tomorrow. (They gave me a Kia Spectra to drive, what a difference, lol).

I plan to use the car for my basic transportation and fun in driving. I've never thought of racing it.

I do have one question. Considering where I live, what is anyone's advice for driving this car in the snow?

Quig.

DO NOT even attempt to drive in the snow with the OEM's, you are looking for a wrecked up Z!

Default OEMs?

Here's an example of my sports car stupidity, but what are OEMs. I'm assuming tires, but I'm sure I might be wrong.

If so what tires do you suggest?

BTW thanks for the reply.

oem = original equipment maf.

just get a 2nd car that's below $1000-1500.
not worrying about your new z (priceless).

Welcome and congratulations. Every man deserves something frivolous like a sports car.

Yes you can drive a 350Z in the snow. Just not in a straight line.

Welcome. I just moved to a city where it does snow (from sunny California) and I did see a few G's and Z's out in the snow. Granted it doesn't snow very heavily or often out here but the folks who were driving had steelies and true snow tires. Not sure what size they were running though.

Default Warm Welcome

Thanks all for the warm welcome and thoughts on the snow. We do have another car, a very nice VW Passat, but my husband takes that to work and I drive the Z, a situation that I love until bad weather.

I'm hoping this warm winter stays the way it is. I will be checking into snow tires though. Believe me I don't want to drive it in snow, I want to drive it on a perfect spring day on a fast highway with no troopers.

I drive my Z in the snow. I invested in a set of snow tires and have not had any traction issues. BTW- Congrats on your new ride!

Default Snow tires for sure!

If you have to drive it then get some snow tires for sure. But like they mentioned above, I would drive something else when it snows. The Z just isnt worth the risk!

A female with a Z, even better. I wouldn't let that be common knowledge around here unless you enjoy the internet leg humpers. I too am going through my first New England winter with the Z. Luckily, it's been a ridiculously mild one. Fortunately I have a work garage where I can leave it when it snows. Unfortunately, I then have to take the subway..

Good luck with the salt, your exhaust and belly will be rusted in no time.

I drove my Z in the snow with OEM tires.
As long as they clean the roads you'll be ok!
Otherwise you can always have fun drifting.

This is my first sports car. Our other car is a VW Passat, which is a standard. I've always driven a stick.
