Default How are they in the snow?

Hey, I was thinking about buying a Z but since I live in New York and the snow is a hassle I was wondering, how do they handle in the snow?

^from what I have read, dont use the oems for snow. Although I had to drive through a snowstorm when I picked up my Z and I had no problems with the 1 hour drive home.

I would not take a chance with the Z if its going to be your DD.

*We have some mild weather this year, so I doubt you will need snows, for this year at least"

Cheers,

R

If you got a good set of tires and a little extra weight in the back, you'll be fine. Still, i have a beater 4x4 to get around in as well. I'll sell you mine if you want it?!

this one is easily searchable....but

YOU WILL, I repeat WILL KILL yourself trying to drive the Z on stock tires in snowy/freezing rain conditions on stock tires(thats if you can even move)

Im not being an a$$ i know from New Jersey experience. That being said ive had my car for 4.5 years and this is the first year ive had snow tires(ironically the warmest year ever). When its dry out the stocks do fine even in freezing 32 degree temps when it's DRY out, you just have to be light with the throttle. In snowy conditions, besides the low ground clearance with the Z it will do just fine with a set of Blizzak(or Dunlop wintersports) tires.

Umm, don't use the OEM's at all, full stop, horrible tyre, noisy, useless in the wet. Don't get snow where I live, but wouldn't have like to try snow on the OEM's at snow boarding time.

i like the RE040s personally, the sidewall is stiff as hell and IMO they handle great. the treadwear sucks though.

Most 350 drivers I know personally have had good wear from RE040's, but then all the negative aspects. Different strokes for different folks, but try another flavour of tyre on your 350 and you'll see what we mean.

Quick comment and now back to the OP's thread.

Default snow driving

I asked this question previously and due to the answers I received here and in the Northeast forum, I have put Dunlop wintersport snow tires on. This is Rhode Island, 60 degrees today then 20 degrees and snow tomorrow. I hope they're good.

I agree 100%.

Bronzee:
I drove with them in the rain last weekend and they were fine, drove them in snow, fine. (although I have not tried another set of tires)
