Default Traded in my Honda Fit for a 350Z!!!

This is one scenario you don't see every day, but yes this actually happened. I have wanted the 350Z for years now, but settled on a Honda Fit (apples and Oranges) thinking it was the coolest of the "practical - economical" cars out there. Let's just say I was in a "practical" state of mind (Don't ask), so I went with it. I could not bear the lack o' ponies. My previous car was a 1.8T Jetta and a GTI VR6 prior to that. However, I had a horrible experience with Volkswagen which made me go Japanese. I lasted about 6 months and finally caved and got the car I should have gotten to begin with. Took a slight hit trading it in, like one would expect. But NO REGRETS!!! This car is AMAZING!!! I have never experienced raw power like this! Granted I got the base which is bare bones as far as options go. The slight imporvements made from 05 to 06 are noticable and make up for it! (I got a good deal on an 06) Glad to be part of the club! THIS CAR IS SICK!!!!

Congrats on your new acquisition.

BTW, just curious, how did the Fit handle? In its econo class of cars, most reviews stated that it was the best performer (as compared to, say, the Yaris or Versa or Scion xA, etc).

I've got a 1.8t Golf now. Looking to make the same transaction shortly. Well, except for the Fit (which I don't hate btw)!

I had the Fit S model. It was an automatic and actually had shift paddles on the steering wheel if you can believe that one! It actually handled quite nicely. The Fit S comes with 15" alloys instead of the regular model which has 14" hubs. Also has a sportier suspension which accounted for it's nicer ride. I think of all the econo cars, it's the best and most sporty which is why I went with it. It's also mad popular in Japan.

Dood - I waited 3 months for it!!! Tell me about it. That's partly why I opted to trade it in though, I got more than I would have if it were less popular....

Always go with your gut and get what you want (if it's in your budget) otherwise you end up coming around eventually - going through unnecessary motions, and paying some negative equity!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!!

No regreats, however!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!!
Yeah, they're selling like hotcakes in SoCal, too. The only thing I'd say the Fit has over the Z is that I can't fit a surfboard in the Z (a small one will, uh, "fit" in the Fit, and I can definitely put one in the Integra). I also can't sleep comfortably in the Z (but you supposedly can in the Fit, right?).

Not that I'm planning on sleeping in my car anytime soon...

25 and change - with some extras (mud guards, Z floor mats which they should include anyway - but apparently don't, Aluminum kick guards which look bad ***, and a few other nic nacs). After tax it was $27 and change - just about the pre-tax price of an 07 stripped down without the above extras.

Congrats on the Z. I actually stopped and looked at the Fit, but realized I might be forced to buy one later in life so I bought Z while Im young.

LOL when I first sat in a FIT at a car show I thought the paddle shifters were volume control -/+ for the stereo. Then after playing around I realized what they were Then I thought wow this is cool but is it really a needed feature for this car? Does shifting faster with paddles going to make a difference?
