Default Frequently recurring costs?

Hi All,

This question is directed towards those who have had their Zs for a good amount of time - say like six months and over.

Just curious to know - are there any (surprising) recurring costs involved with owning a Z? I mean, in terms of maintenance expenses.

Of course gas and monthly car payments and insurance are excluded! I am talking more like - oil changes....hmmm...(damn, can't think of anything else!!))...any other?

(I'll soon be moving over from my 05 Altima to the Z (05 and above only) - have NEVER taken the Altima to a mechanic other than for regular periodic servicing - so just making sure I am not in for a unpleasant surprise).

Appreciate all your feedback ppl!

My biggest expense has been relating to washing the car.

Finally changed my brake pads at 30k miles.
Will need a new clutch soon.
Will need new tires soon.

Otherwise it's been pain free for 2.5 years.

LOL this thread exemplifies many of the same progressions I went through. Let's see:

1) Higher oil change prices for synthetic
2) Lots of $$$$ when the moding bug hits
3) Lots of $$$$ when I get hit by the cops
4) More $$$$ on radars and laser counter measures
5) Tranny replacement more $$$$ on clutch and flywheel
6)
7) .........

And the list goes on

Shouldn't be that much more than the Altima, all depends how you drive and what you want to modify!

Haha, yeah, you got it + what most of the other guys have said.

It probably depends on what you are intending using the car for. If racing, well it's a given you may break stuff a bit more frequently. But if it's a normal daily drive road car, should be fine. All depends on the particular car.

I developed a leak in my LR tire this weekend. I must have run over something on the way home from work on Fri. I checked into new rear tires and my wife is freaking out because of their cost. The cheapies start around $220 each. She keeps joking around about getting me 15" Continental whitewalls from the budget rack.

Cleaning. When you have a nice car, you do it more often.
