Default New owner from Down Under

I have been reading this forum for awhile since I signed a contract for new 2007 350Z back in March. Unfortunately there are some delays with the delivery as the first shipment of 2007s to Australia is due at the end of this week. Then I will have to wait for one more week to get it delivered to Adelaide. Just can’t wait any longer.

I wanted to buy a new car for my wife (she has been driving a Tiburon lately). She has always been fascinated with it but we never considered Z seriously because of the price. Here in Oz the recommended price on Z Touring Auto with all on-road charges is around US$57,000. Ridiculous! I envy you guys with your low 30’s prices.

Anyway I decided to entertain myself and arranged for an extensive 2 hour test drive with no serious intentions to buy. Initially the dealer was reluctant to give it to me for a long drive and offered a short one around the block with him. I just laughed and said that he can not be serious expecting me to spent AU$70,000 on a car after 5 minutes drive. He’s agreed and let me go on my own. I picked my wife from home and we went for a drive.

That was amazing. I took the car in all road conditions driving more than 100 kms. After busy city traffic I went to most challenging serpentine road in the Hills. I was so happy and ecstatic with the performance of the Z, I almost cried. Powerful engine, precise steering with perfect body balance, firm but not uncomfortable suspension – all these gave me driving experience I had never had before.

I returned via a freeway and found that it is also a good touring car – comfortable, quiet, powerful. By the end of the amazing drive I was hooked. The dealer has offered me an excellent deal I could not resist and I signed the contract straight away. My wife could not be happier.

When we came home and told the story to our son. He skeptically replied: “Dad, you are not buying it for mum, you are buying it for yourself!”

And he is damn right. It will be MY weekend car

I have never been so anxious awaiting a new car delivery. I really can not wait any longer! Help me!

Thanks! I will.

We have ordered 2007 Touring Coupe with auto transmission in Solar Orange.

Initially we were a bit scared by the brigtness of the colour, but photos from this forum helped us make right desicion. Then I saw the colour in person on the Motor Show and absolutely love it.

Primussa...Congrats! Glad to hear that you are going with the Solar Orange. I promise you will love it, and you won't pass any that color on the road, I assure you.

about the price is more or less the same in Italy... 57.000 US$.. but now I'm in the US :P and I'm sorry to tell for that price I'll make a "little" effort more and I'll buy a Cayman S... keep a lot better the value at least in Italy.. so at the end you'll "throw" out the same money.

congrats. It's really really nice... consider to upgrade the suspension and go away from the bridgestone RE040...
