Default Finally i got a Z. : )

Hi, im Cameron, im new here and just recently got my own 350Z. I really wanted a stick, but you know how parents are on first cars and all so they made me get the 5 speed automatic. I'm not really upset with the auto, i just drive in sport shift all the time. I got it for 24K, and am going to make payments to my parents. Just like a lot of other young kids on here i am most likely going to be under my parents insurance unless i can make some good grades (ha) but, as of right now it is pretty much stock other than an upgraded exhaust system. which im not to sure how much HP it boosted it from 287 seeing as we havent got it dynoed yet. Other than that pretty much all my friends hate me now because of what i got, and im hoping to make some new friends on here and get some good advice from some long time owners.. When i get home from school today ill POst some pics of it. Glad to be a member, PEace Guys.

Thanks,
Cameron

why would a parent buy their kid a Z at 16? Sorry captain, but you are too young and dumb to be drivin' a car like that...18 should be the legal driving age anyway. I can tell by the looks of the house that your parents are loaded and get you what you want....BE CAREFUL. We hate hearing about how young kids get in wrecks in their sports cars bc they were careless and immature. Have fun, but be safe.

Congratulations and welcome to the Z community. Respect the car and you'll be a happy owner for a long time. Being a white Z, you'll probably find the cleaning section useful. Enjoy.

wow!!! You're so lucky to have a Z as a first car. I remember driving my pos 84 mazda with a dying Transmission. Please take care of it, and be careful on the streets. peace.

dude 1st car 1989 honda accord at age 19. I had to wait to graduate college and a year into my first "real" job at 23 to get my 07 Z.

Anyways, I hope u understand the power and respect the limits of what the car can do. Being that young your going to be going to parties and such - DONT DRINK AND DRIVE!

Congrats tho! I got a PPW too!

Yea my dad, hes a firefighter and has been driving a ladder truck for about 30 years. He is teachin me all about driving and all and i'm not like most 16 year olds who ride your rear all the time. and yea i know a Z for a first car, i am lucky but i really didnt want a Z to start off with i wanted a 240sx Chuki, but they didnt want to get me something that old to start out with either.. so pretty much what it came down to was a new Cobalt SS Superchared, or a slightly used 350z.. I chose the Z cause they were both around the same price.. also with insurance and all, believe it or not the little 205 hp Cobalt SS/SC came out being more on insurance than the Z.. And yea if youve read my Sig, as tempting as it is i aint gunna race a car that has so much value. ill leave that for the 1/4 mile

Congrats on the car but be careful. It is so tempting to develop a heavy foot, even for an old geezer like me. Stay in control. You have a very special car and both you and it deserve special care.
