I just got the new 07 Z. Eveything someone sit in my passenger side my airbag lights turn on. Is that normal? It lights up where the dome light is.

 

yes thats normal, part of the (PODS) "Passenger Occupant Detection System", turns airbag on and off in regards to the seat being occupied or not.

 

Yes it's normal; I believe it is just making sure the passenger is the proper weight to activate the airbag. I believe the passenger has to be a certain weight to activate the airbag, and if they don't meet the weight requirement then the airbag will be deactivated. It prevents the air bag from deploying in the face of a child, which could be a very bad thing.

Hmm I didnt know they started that with the 07's. Pretty cool feature!

 

Mine does that too. I wish that the airbag would be off when theres no one in the seat though.

 

How about an 07 owner checking their manual?

That's what i was going to post but i figured i would just explain it

 

The only time that should light up is when you first turn the ignition on or when driving and there is a child (or small adult under 80lbs) in the front seat.

If that light stays on when you have an adult over 80lbs in the pasenger seat you may have a problem.
