Older new 350Z owner...
Hello,
Two weeks ago I purchased a new (100 miles on the odometer) 2007 Nissan 350Z Enthusiast, 6MT. I traded in a Firebird TransAm, also 6MT that I had bought new five years ago, and was running fine, but it was time for a change.
Previously, I have owned, among many others, a 1959 Pontiac 389/3-deuces, a 1962 Pontiac 389/3-deuces, Chevelle 327, Chevelle SS 396, Dodge Daytona (2), Plymouth Laser Turbo, and the T/A - all straight stick. All have been good, and I have driven all at their top speed at one time or another, and have tested the handling of most on secluded windy roads. All except the first two I bought new, and the only one that I officially raced (drag) was the '62 Pontiac - back in the mid-sixties - with several trophies to its credit
So far, the 350Z has impressed me the most, and although it is not broken in yet, I can tell that this car will be the best yet.
I am looking forward to sound advise from the good folks here, and I already have two questions that I will post elsewhere.

Hi Nando,
Welcome to the club. Slick looking Z there. Your not alone on the "older" thing. Though the vast majority of members are young, totally testosterone driven guys on here, their are a few of us over 55 +. I'm 65 this year & the oldest member I'm aware of is 70.
Always good to have more age here to whip the youngsters into shape on occassion! LOL!

Welcome Nando!!! Great choice in Z's.
As mentioned above, don't sweat the age thing. I bought my 350 at age 52, I'm 54 now, but everytime I drive it I'm 21 again!! What a great time machine the Z is!!

welcome aboard, nando... hopefully you will enjoy your stay and find a great bit of useful information... of course, the Search function should always be your first choice when looking for answers, but it's not the most user friendly... so, feel free to post up, respond and banter! here's to you getting the mod bug!

good trade!! i hope you love it, the car looks gorgeous. age doesn't matter, it's the love for the Z that does.
(except for the stories of younger drivers doing stupid things, and everyone else trashing them)

Awesome. Always love Arrest me red. lol
Of the cars you listed, the Z will deff impress you the most because it is the most well rounded. Not the fastest maybe of the group, but deff the best handling and the power isnt too bad.
One favor though. Please take off that magnet. lol
That puckers my butthole when I see that. My wife puts them on our cars and i always flip and toss them. Paranoy's me with new paint.

Nando, I'm 53 and bought my '07 Z (Redline / 6mt) in February. Just 800 miles so far, but I am planning on lots of use this summer. I had Mustangs, a Road Runner and Challengers in the past. Fun, but the Z is 'the full package."
This is a great group of Z lovers. Good to have you aboard!

Congratulations on your new Z! I am 64 and bought my first Z last month. It is a new 2007 Solar Orange. Previously I owned a 1969 Pontiac Firebird; a 1978 Porsche 914; a 1985 Porsche 911; and a 1999 BMW Z-3.

Hi Nando, from another mature owner! I'm in my mid-50's, have been impressed with the Z's ever since the mid-70's when a roommate's boyfriend owned one.
Took me long enough to get mine, but I love it. You picked a great color! ;-)
