Default 07 startup

Hey, ive noticed that when i start up my 07, it revs up to 2k and then takes about a min or lil longer to get down below 1k, is this normal? or do some of you go before the revs drop that far? i was told to wait til it got below 1k to start driving

It's warming up. You don't have to wait for it, just drive.

I usually let it idle for a minute then drive.

It is, or the same as, an automatic choke. It is an indicator of engine temp.

Many recommend letting it warm a little to lower viscosity(thickness) of the oil for lubricating purposes before driving.

I wait for oil pressure to drop to 60, like to hear the different sound and im sure its better to let the oil lube everything up

I just wait for the indicator lights to go off and the chimes to stop (well, maybe a little longer)

I'll drive it for a few miles before getting in to it too much.

Yea my 06 does the same thing. I think my old Protege 5 did the same thing. Just didn't make as much noise for me to even notice.
