Default Hello, new owner 03 track with leather?

Hey everyone. I just upgraded my DD to a 03 silverstone track with nav, leather and 9k miles. The car is exactly what I had been looking for and I am loving it so far.

My question is where did the leather come from. The guy I bought it from was the original owner and said he had the dealer install the leather. The seats are not power nor heated. I was just wondering where the leather came from as it doesn't have the touring options. Was this common?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

You can add leather to any cloth seats. Some dealerships will even offer it as an upgrade, but it is not a Nissan OEM option.

thanks guys. i am very glad to be here. i drove the car a lot today, the more i drive it the happier i am with the purchase.

back to the leather.. do the cloth seats have airbags because these seats do. it doesn't appear that they were recovered. heres a pic what do you think?

Maybe the seats came from another 350Z. And yes, members with cloths seats do trade for leather.

the previous owner was clear that he had the dealer install them.

is there a model of the z that comes with non power/heated leather seats? i was under the impression that only the touring had leather and that would mean they would be power and heated. i am still learning here so bear with me, just trying to figure out the story behind my new car.

a. They could be the seat insert, not the entire seat assembly.

b. They could be leather covers.

thanks david. i am sure as i own the car for longer i will eventually figure it out. i just thought it was strange as the seats looked like oem leather to me and i wasn't aware of a trim level with non power/heated seats.

yep if it's a track, the leather is definitly just a dealer add on, not a nissan specific model.

probably a ploy by the dealer to boost the original sale price.

what kind of wheels are on there by the way? i may be seeing things but from the slice of that pic they dont look like tracks? i could be delerious though.

actually you have one of the rarest Z's ever made. They only made 1506 03 tracks with leather appointment. They didnt make them power nor heated for lighter track use. Congratulations on the rare purcahse...

NOT.

It is simply as the original owner said, he had the stock seats(non-electric) redone with leather. Where did the leather come form? A cow.

Congrats and welcome to the forum!
