I had a 2001 prelude before the Z, I too considered the s2k as the step up. I dreamed of Z's ($$) and one fell in my lap for a good price. Yes, the TQ is sex. no regrets AT ALL.

I've also just traded in a 2005 S2k for an 2004 350Z performance model.

I really like both cars for vastly different reasons. The torque and the smooth comfort of the Z are definitely more liveable than the S.
The S definitely feels more nimble, athletic, and tossable though.

The Z feels a little faster in a straight line because of all the torque even though I know they cover a 1/4 mile in roughly the same time. The S feels like you have to work a little harder to extract the straightline speed.

If you ask me which stock car I'd rather spend a non-competitive fun day with on a track with I'd say the S. It feels like more of a balanced and pure sports car to me.
If you ask me which I'd rather drive on a daily basis in the real world I would say the Z. I enjoy the more relaxed GT feel of the Z.

Yes the Honda S2K is a nice track car with an amazing 4 cylinder engine it is a balance of handling and real performance for the money almost on par with the Lotus Elises in design but more daily driver.

Now I like the 350Z because it fits me better and I've been a Z-Car fan since the mid 70s. The Honda S2K is a slick open top coupe light and powerful the same hp as the Rx-8 but way more 0-60 output.

The 350Z is just an totally different animal enough of everything that will make a sport car fan happy a little more room then the Honda S2k.

U can trade out the stock mags if you want but thats one nice looking Sports Car, just as it stand. You gonna miss the S2k silky smooth shifting.

Glad to have you on board.

Bro.. What kinda of wing is that?? Is that from g35?? (srry if I sound dumb) Thats almost exactly what I'm looking for, for my Z. P.M. me if u know.. Thanks..

Def a nice Z. And I agree with the Z having a better powerband and being smoother then the sk2. I think Hondas just lack that all out trq. And I agree you dont know its running. I didn't know the Z had a 500 idle. I was sitting at a light and I'm like wait is this normal?? I'm use to a 800 redline with my SI. I'm still havin trouble with take offs and going into 2nd. But its a great car. I also considered the s2k. But I think a Z is sooooo much more appealing. Good Luck man.

I also like the s2k one of my buddies has a sky blue one with blue leather interior, i think its the best color combo that model offers.

I also came close to picking an s2k over the z, when I test drove the s2k i really didn't notice any lack of low end power. I think that car has more than enough torque for its weight.

I have driven and riden in both. Both of them are excellent cars and have their advantages. But can you compare the look of the Z to a look of the S2000? I couldn't. 350Z looks soooo much better than the s2k and being an appearance kinda guy I had to go with Z. Oh almost forgot that Z have almost 70% more torque

Top down the Honda S2k looks sharp as hell, top up soft or hard cover on and its 350Z all the way inside and out, imho.

The Sk2 is tighter inside. Feels more cramped. But its impressive for a NA I4. Way back when my 350z was stock the Sk2 didnt have a chance at high speeds.

glad i have my Z tho (even tho she is having a few issues tho )

you're not alone. i was in the same boat too. but in comparison, the S2K's fun starts when you're coming up to red-line where it screams w/c is it's strong point and key. so it's all about it's horsepower. the Z on the other hand, at low rpm's, torque is it's selling tool, imo. so hp or tq, i ended up with the latter. then again, jray8, welcome buddy.

Nice G35 spoiler on your new Z! In my opinion, that spoiler looks better than just about any other Z spoiler out there. How is the fitment on it?
