2003 350Z - Pittsburgh PA - Lowest Mileage on board? 10,800?
Hey all,
I recently have came from the darkside. I had a 1998 fully built Accord Turbo sitting right around 400hp. AEM EMS, T3/T4 .63 w/ stage 3 compressor wheel. ect ect.
Anywho... I recently purchased this 2003 I believe performance edition? Maybe someone cal help me determine the trim level.
It has HID's, Heated leather, VDC, Cruise, 6cd changer, 6spd, 18" wheels.
It had 10,800miles on it when I got 2 weeks ago. Anyone have lower miles on a 03?
Here are a few pics...
And the honda...
First impressions are...
Probably no way in hell will this ever have as much HP as my accord for the money - which by the way I have sold. I needed some rear wheel drive in my life so I wen this route. The suspension and predictability of these cars are amazing. I think that I will truly like this car and the features it provide - coming factory as a true sports car - not turning a grocery getter into one. I will begin running her at Beaverun this year on some "flat out" days. The power is a hair under what I like but I can get used to it. The car doesn't seem to have 287hp - maybe its just that smooth.
See you guys around!

Nice car! Looks like a touring. Congrats on the purchase. I don't know if you are the lowest on the board, not too long ago there was a guy in Texas I believe that has 5k miles on his 03.
If you want more power, bolt-ons won't do. They are good for sound/looks, but it take a lot more money to get a little horsepower than it does to save up and go with forced induction. Stock motors can usually handle 400whp with a good tune.
Welcome to the boards! Hopefully you can sift through the crap and find all the good information that is on here.

my bet is touring also. Why cant you get the same power for the same money or less? A turbo cost turbo money no matter what car you put it on. I was reading a thread the other day on this site that had guys way over 400whp with the turbo on a stock block running 8-9 psi.... I'm thinking about personally getting one with a super conservative 7.5psi which would still kick you honda's butt which you say had 400hp crank.... $.02
oh and welcome

Nice grab w/ the low miles.. i agree.. prob touring. just an fyi.. keep ur eyes on the marketplace. there can be some good deals on turbo or sc kits. just make sure u know ur getting all that u need. 8psi is std for begining boost... anything above 420-440crank and u will need some serious engine internals and $$$... but u prob already know that. BTW.. accords r not my thing but i betcha she would move! but you will have alot more fun w/ the Z!

Thanks guys...
so how do I tell what model it is? I looked at some of the "guide" but they weren't to clear? Why are most of you saying touring and not performance?
Also - my plans are not to boost this car. I am getting out of that game. It consumes to much time with maintenance, inspection problems every year ect ect. I was looking for a car that is pretty much good to go stock on a road racing track.

Nice find!
Only the 2003 Touring came stock with leather seats. If the leather was put in afterwards, you will probably only have one **** on the drivers left side of the seat instead of the stock Tourings which have two *****.

Here is a good link describing the models of each year. Just select the year you want to check out.

Actually - it does only have 1 **** on the driver seat.
Concerning the recalls - carfax reported that the "alignment recall" was performed. Are these recalls still available for the life of the vehicle? The manf'g warranty is expired.

I am thinking it is the performance edition b/c of only having 1 **** on the drivers seat and 1.) TCS off Enth, Tour 5AT 2.)VDC off Perf, Track, Tour 6MT
I only have the VDC off Perf switch not TCS
