The reason is I think I just got ripped off and it only covers mechanical defects not wear and tear. I still have the 5 yr 60,000 mile warrant that comes with Nissan. Anyone actually use there nissan warranty for large problems? I think im calling to cancel tomorrow.

Subscribing because I am thinking on adding mine on before the 23rd of this month when my 3 year 36,000 mile warranty runs out.

I got the extended on mine but I don't think I paid that much for it. I think it only cost me about 1k. Mine does not cover wear and tear either, but it does cover more items that are not covered under the regular waranty.

Dealing with the sales pitch on the warranty was the biggest hassle in buying the car. Finally I told them that I didn't want the car if they were so sure I'd need the extended warranty. I was looking for dependability.
That shut them up. Extended warranties can make the dealers about as much money as selling the cars.

Just got me a z and i was offered extended over the 3yr/5yr regular plan. It seems like a waste of money to me because i plan to mod mine. So if you're thinking of putting any engine mods on it, than dont bother because the second you do it usually voids the warranty.

You paid way to much for your warranty. I live in Northern California my credit union is offering the following warranty for my 2005 touring model Z.
100,000/72 months $1,635.00 80,000 miles/72 months $ 1,330.0
60,000 miles/72 months $880.00 100,000 miles 60 months $1,345.00
80,000 miles / 60 months $ 1,040.00. My deductable is $50.00 dollars and the warranty does not cover normal wear and tear. My current warranty expires June 2008.

when I bought my z it came with a 3year 36k warranty and that blows so I got it extended to a 7yr 75k warranty and I got my tires insured were I can get them replaced for free if they go flat for any reason other than normal ware.I got all this for a extra 27 bucks a month on my car note.

Just purchased an 03 Z with 50K miles on it from the Nissan stealership out here and for an extra $1800 I got: 100K miles drivetrain and bumper to bumper warranty, wheel and tire coverage, GAP insurance and paintless dent removal.
