New Z owner....insurance question.
Ok so after wanting a Z for about as long as they've been around I finally purchased one over the weekend. I absolutely love it. However....I do not absolutely love my insurance rates. I was aware insurance would go up....but damn! I have a colorful record....and I am going to be paying over $300.00 a month for insurance. So I was just wondering if anyone knows ANY cheap insurance places? There has got to be someone out there for drivers with alot on there record. I am 23 and live in PA. I currently have progressive insurance. I have filled out some quotes...but they actually all seem HIGHER!!
So can anyone help me out here? I really find it outrageous to be paying that much. Thanx guys.

I pay $88 a month with state farm, I am 25 though. Before I turned 25 I was paying $128, but I only have 1 ticket. When I was looking for insurance, progressive was one of the highest ones. Also, forget about the on-line quotes unless it is a totally online insurance company (ie esurance), i have found that the on-line quotes are false. Go around to some agencies and get official quotes.

Progressive costs more because they take "high-risk" customers like yourself. It is possible because of your "colorful" record you won't be able to find a better deal than Progressive.

Oh and when I was under 25 I was on with my parents and got the multiple car and good student bonus, but I was still the primary driver of the Z. Now I am on it all by myself now, no multiple car bonus or anything.

Ok...I guess I'll just call around. maybe start with state farm. I'm not one of those punk kids who thinks they're cool because they got a bad driving record. It's more misfortune than anything. I used to live in a heavily wooded area so I have unfortunately have hit a couple deer (comprehensive claims). And a couple of violations were for my old car having tinted windows. I'm just tryin to catch a break here. Also....not that anyone cares...but I am not sure why violations make insurance go up so much. I can see with accidents because insurance has to pay for that ****...but other than it making me "potentially high risk"...I don't feel they should have such an adverse affect on rates.

well I am in the market for a z and I got a quote from my insurance agent... Turns out it will only be 132$ a year more than what I am paying now for maxed out coverage! That will make it 1600 a year! which will make it a little over 230 every 2 months when i get it! Im 26, no accidents, great credit (yes that counts), college grad, and no tickets! I also live 60 miles north of nyc...(pretty populated these days)
I think it has a lot to do with who you are, and your life history than location really. But location does help a bit... If you live in city, it will be higher!
