2008 Base Owner in MA
Hey everyone, my name is Brian and I bought a 2008 carbon silver base model 350z on March 21, 2008. I've been on the forums for a little bit, but never got around to posting one of these because I didn't have a camera. As you can see my name has 2007 instead of 2008, that's because I was originally going to be getting a brand new 2007 Daytona Blue base model, but the weekend I was going to go up and see it somebody dropped $3000 and bought it.. The thing's been left over for almost a year and somebody chose to buy it the weekend (actually the DAY) that I was planning on getting it.
Well, I'm actually very happy with the outcome, because I'm absolutely in love with the carbon silver color that I got. I like the more downplayed color anyway, and when the sun hits the car it looks amazing. It's also a year newer.
Only mods thus far is the pioneer avic-d3, and 3-day-old tint (35% on the 2 fronts for legality, and 20% on the 2 rears and hatch window). Future mods that will be on within the next month are aluminum pedals, 3M clear bra, RDX or S2k antenna, clear corners and multiple layers of wax. Glad to be on the board and I look forward to meeting you guys and getting insight on mods, questions, etc.
Have a good day.

Appreciate the kind words guys.
SMB or Carbon Silver was the decision that I had to make as well. I guess my gut told me to go with the CS because I had a feeling that one day I would get tired of the dark blue... It's a beauuuuutiful color though, they all are, but I liked the fact that I was going with a color that sort of blended in with the other cars on the road; it allows the actual body of the Z to be shown off more, which is really what makes this car attractive. This is my sexy summer car, and this metallic paint really comes alive on a sunny day with the sun beaming off of it... When I first saw this color, I didn't like it. I looked at a line of 08's outside the dealership on a cloudy, gloomy day. They were in line left to right: silver alloy, SMB, CS, and magnetic black. I thought the silver alloy looked better than the CS, and I really was into the SMB too. But when I went back to the dealership on a beautiful sunny day, the CS was the first one I saw and it looked absolutely gorgeous. I wanted that car right then and there, but I had to check out the other colors first. So I walked down to the silver alloy at the other end of the dealership and it just looked too damn "plain" (no offense to SA owners), walked over to the SMB which looked awesome too (but I still couldn't get over the CS), I wasn't into black, I thought white looked a smidgen "girly," and I'm not a fan of the color red (even though that looked sick and I second-thought that color too)... so BAM, Carbon Silver all the way baby!
