Good and bad, frustrating day!
Ok all, so I purchased my first Nissan 350Z yesterday. I am absolutely thrilled with it. Its a 2005 Touring Roadster with 20k miles. It is black with black leather, navi, 19' chrome wheels, AT (yes I know many don't like an automatic sports car buts its more convenient for me), and I love the fact that I can drop the top whenever I want to. I live in southwest Florida and drove to Jacksonville to get it because I received a great deal. Last night I drove it home and it ran like a top. Absolutely wonderful it was love at first drive
. So I wake up today to take my girlfriend to an appointment she had and we put the top down enjoying a wonderful day in SW FL. I drop her off and go to the bank and return to pick her up. As I am pulling out of the lot, I notice steam coming from under the hood. I pull over and pop the hood, noticing that coolant is bubbling over. At this point I was extremely frustrated, not even having had the car 24hrs at this point. Long story short, I call my local Nissan stealership and they say don't drive it any further because it may cause further damage. I wait for a tow truck 2.5hrs on the side of the road, have it towed to the stealership, and they are going to look at it first thing in the AM. Does anyone know what this could be or have this problem before?? I was thinking either a leak or bad hose, radiator issue, or perhaps gasket?? I am even more frustrated because I am on the brink of the factory warranty (hope to God it covers it still) and the stealership where I bought it its being ignorant. There has to be something I can do right?
Anyways, the car is absolutely gorgeous and I love it, will post pics soon. I'm just praying I don't have to go to the stealership tomorrow and find out either the factory warranty is no longer good or doesn't cover whatever is wrong and that the dealership where I bought it I could seriously kill right now. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated, so frustrated....

So the cooling fan went bad, long story short I'm into Nissan for about $1k. The vice president from the dealership where I purchased it is looking into the case now and hopefully I will receive some compensation, full or partial. Has anyone heard of the cooling fan going out on these cars?? Its only got 21k miles and I wondered if Nissan had a recall or could be the start of an issue?? Thanks all....
is this the same dealership you bought it from?..
and they aren't covering repairs? the **** happeend less the 24 hours after owning it.. =/
good luck. I would go to some extremes if they won't cover it, but that's just me :]

Well now that all is said and done I paid Nissan $1177 for total parts and labor. The cooling fan alone was $620 and I shopped around but its just an expensive part in general. The issue with getting a lawyer or going to court is that the lawyer is going to cost more than the hassle you know? The dealership where I bought it, which are still bein ***holes, said they would cover half the amount so atleast thats about $600 I'll get back, better than nothing. I also contacted the Nissan headquarters and have been speaking to a Nissan regional rep who is reviewing my case. They said that although there were no recalls for the 05' Z that this is very a-typical for that part to go bad after only 20k miles so hopefully I'll be getting money from Nissan as well. All in all its a slow process but atleast I will recoop most, if not all, of the money I sunk.
I did get her back last night though and she runs good as new.
I'll get some pics posted up in the next several days here. Thanks for all who helped....
