Default New Z, sounds weak

I need some help on what exhaust to get for the Z. I want a deep sound, not a high pitch ricer sound. Any help.

best advice you will get: attend local meets to hear other exhaust set ups in person, sound clips do not do them justice.

the deepest sound I was able to find was this 3" magnaflow system, there is a nismo Z on youtube with it and there are some clips on the site but again, no clips do any exhaust justice. my exhaust doesn't sound too much like the clips.

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?id=6690

you will find that a lot of exhaust systems on the Z are higher pitched, not really ricer sound, but have a higher tone.

magnaflow is more of a muscle car and truck company so they definitely provide a deep sound.

trust me mang, I came from a 68 camaro, I got the tone I was looking for with magnaflow. you aren't wasting your time, there are set ups that will be to your liking but you won't like a lot of them. check out the intake and exhaust section, youtube up every exhaust system you can think of and check some out in person.

I picked up the magnaflow system I linked for 713$ shipped from performancepeddler.com, was a kick *** deal, even the forum sponsers couldn't come within 150$ or so of the price I got it at.

sure thing. you have a lot of research to do though. I have stock headers and cats, magnaflow ypipe-midpipe-mufflers (3" piping, 4"+ tips), motordyne iso-thermal plenum spacer and a JWT pop charger. I got the pop charger because the gains from intake systems aren't really noticable and this is a quick/inexpensive way for a slight gain and it sounds good.

I heavily suggest reading through this thread and the appropriate forums while researching what to buy.

Search up 350z with bassani or Borla on youtube. PS they sound even better in person.

Nismo catback with E-Cutout just before the muffler. No rasp and insane sound!! Sounds liek a stock car at WOT!! Trust me though, you'll be glad you can close the cutout with the hit of a switch, it drones like hell when you are cruising!!<---That's what i have so of corse i, like everyone else here, is gonna say what they have sounds best. So like the others said, go and listen in person and decide what YOU like best.

Remember, this is a V6 not a V8. You are only gonna get so "deep" before it just starts sounding raspy/ricey.
Hell, most buy the Zs and Gs 'cause that have a very unique sound to begin with from the factory. Don't try too hard to make it something it wasn't ment to be!

I love my Z but i'm not a "fanboy" and you will never get that deep V8 rumble from a V6. As the previous posts suggest there are several great options for the Z however, i highly doubt they will be to your liking considering your request.

Only 07+ Zs have the dual intakes.

Maybe the exhaust forum has exhaust recommendations. Just a thought.

Save your money and go FI now. It's really expensive to get any gains NA outta this motor. Everyone told me the same thing and i didn't listen at first. I would of saved thousands!!

I'll pay to see the dual intake on your factory motor. Have you popped your hood yet and looked at anything under there?!?!?!

I saw that k&n had a dual intake for a 350z, wasnt sure what year model or if it was some kind of conversion-Halfass
and I'm not going to go with FI, I have a Hayabusa for speed I just want little mods so that its not the same z that some punk kid got from mommy and daddy.
plus its fun to blow the doors off a mustang**

I have a single Greddy exhaust set up along with test pipes. My Z was so freaking loud that I had no choice then to put on the silencer. Every time I would get out of the car my ears would be ringing. Don't get me wrong, it had a great sound and always got compliments but sometimes I drive long distance and the sounds get annoying.

Even with the silencer its still very loud.

Remember louder dosn't always = faster. Esp. for this engine.

Stock for stock, with a good driver you should have no prob beatign a Mustang anyways. BUT sink the same amout of money into mods on that Mustang and he's gonna smoke ya. You're only luck is to catch him on a windy road and out handle him.

A Mustang is a poor benchmark for the Z.

You own a Z now, move past the rustangs it's not 1995, and go whoop up on a some mid-life bastard in his Cayman!

See my post again, and if you would like to try installing dual intakes on your single intake RevUp, then be my guest.
