Default noob questions

watsup everyone. just bought myself a new 08 350 3 days ago and have a few questions. let me start by saying that this is my first manual car and i gotta say, its growing on me already. the first day i could barely get the thing rolling, now im pretty much pro with the stick. the car runs and sounds awesome. the only thing is im hearing a squeaking kind of noise when im making a turn or while im in reverse. it seems even louder when im between cars and it echos off of them.... everyones thelling me its the break that have to be worn in and itll go away in a few weeks, but im not too sure. any sugggestions at wat it might be. it sound like its comming from the rear wheels.

one other thing, is it me or is the clutch REALLY deep? it feels like im pressing it in about a foot and the catching point isnt until way past midpoint, almost at the top. its taking a really long time for me to get used to it compared to others i have driven. is this normal? does everyone feel this way?

Default clutch is hard to get used to.....

ya the clutch is really long, it took me a while to get semi-used to the engagement point. Still learning how to smoothen it out ;p still a little jumpy here and there going from N>1

yea n>1 is a pain. its kind of embarrassing to say but i stalled a few times in the middle of intersections because i couldnt find the catch point. other times i find myself reving the rpms up over 2000 even before the catch point bc im afraid its gunna stall on me and i end up screeching my tires...

well i found out that on flat areas the car will PRETTY MUCH go on its own if you just let the clutch go very slowly without giving it gas. so if you're on a level surface dont be scared to just take the rev to around 1400~ cause the car will move easy

oh and after driving automatic for 4 years with all right foot motion, you'll find out that driving stick is a lot of left foot ;p cause you press the gas with your right foot but dont go anywhere until your left foot does its job!

Welcome. Travel of the OEM clutch is comparative long. Engagement point is high. You may be able to get some adjustment with the engagement point.
