Hey, If some of you could just write down the steps you take to get your Z going in first gear (i.e. give it some gas THEN let off the clutch) or whatever, i'd greatly appreciate it. I just can't seem to figure it out and i don't want to end up glazing the clutch.
HELP please
also any other tips about driving the 350Z as a manual would be great *i'd rather know them now than figure them out AFTER i've had to replace the clutch*
If you dont know how to drive a MT you might have picked the absolute worst car to learn on.There are alot of people on this forum that have been driving a MT for years and when they got thier Z struggled for months before they got it down...

<------is one of those guys!!!
Or you could look at it as "if you can drive a 6mt Z, you can probably drive anything!!"
For real.....I worked at a Porche dealship for a few years back in the day and after driving alot of those the Z was no big deal.
Yep!! I drove a few Porsches and i was actually disapointed by the sloppy smoothness of the cable shift in them. I felt that a Porsche should be ablot more of a workout so you feel more "connected" with the car.
Lol. I literally posted that up less than a minute ago and I love how you respond not only with the quickness but also with the exact post # that already covered the material which I accidentally reposted. You sir are on top of your game!!!
which is not always easy when faced with this crowd. They tend to be more than a little harsh.
As has been pointed out before, the Z is a hard car to learn to drive MT. I'm old and I'm experienced, and I'm a pretty good MT driver, yet it took me a couple of months to get the transitions as smooth as I would like.
Good luck with it. The car will survive and you will learn.
Some of us dont have the time like you nerds who have time to read the whole forum, we want to create a thread and get back on later to see if there's a reply.
regardless of what forum you're on you should always use the SEARCH function. Most things have been talked about at least 20 times.
Glad to see you're getting used to the car OP, I'm sure the more you drive it the more you will love it!
